Chicago Bears TE Colston Loveland draws praise after big surprise
Even before joining the Chicago Bears in 2025, Colston Loveland’s name was already well known. The 10th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft played collegiate football for the University of Michigan.
Loveland played for the Wolverines for three years, and he was a key part of the squad during his tenure. In his sophomore season, he played and started in all 15 games for Michigan. Loveland finished his second year with 45 receptions for 649 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
On top of that, he helped the Wolverines finish the season with a 15-0 record. They capped off their dominance by winning the Big Ten Championship, the Rose Bowl and the National Championship.

Before being a Wolverine and the leading receiver for a national championship game, Loveland was a farm boy in Idaho. The Bears’ tight end was born in Washington but was raised on a farm in Bliss, Idaho.
Loveland attended Gooding High School in Gooding, Idaho, where he played basketball and football. He suited up as a tight end and linebacker for the Gooding Senators during his senior year.
The Idaho native was a top-250-ranked player in the country and a four-star recruit coming out of high school. Loveland also won the 2021 Idaho Gatorade Player of the Year award as he was the No. 1 player in Idaho.
After a successful rookie season with the Bears, the 22-year-old tight end is now enjoying his offseason. Most recently, Loveland surprised Special Olympics athletes during their football practice in Meridian, Idaho.
