Chicago White Sox have major drop in Bleacher Report’s farm system rankings
The Chicago White Sox have a lot of talent developed through their farm system.
With players like Colson Montgomery and Sean Burke making their way through the White Sox system, they are in a position where they need to replenish the minors. Chicago holds the first pick in the 2026 MLB Draft, so it’s safe to assume they will do that.
But where do they rank for the 2026 season? Let’s take a look at what one outlet believes.
The Chicago White Sox drop to 18th in Bleacher Report’s 2026 farm system rankings
Joel Reuter of Bleacher Report ranked all 30 MLB teams’ farm systems for the 2026 season. The White Sox saw a significant drop from last year’s rankings, going from third to 18th. Below is what Reuter wrote while highlighting prospect Braden Montgomery:
“The White Sox received four prospects in the deal that sent Garrett Crochet to the Red Sox, and Montgomery is the only one that has yet to reach the majors. The No. 12 overall pick in the 2024 draft racked up 50 extra-base hits in 121 games last year while reaching Double-A, and the everyday right field job and a spot in the middle of the lineup awaits before 2026 is over.”
In addition, he would write the top 10 prospects in the system. Below is the list he curated:

With the White Sox promoting a lot of their young prospects to the majors, it makes sense to see a dropoff.
Do not be surprised to see them climb up rankings by next season if they are sellers at the trade deadline once again.
