Lamar Jackson was once a guest on LeBron James’ podcast called The Shop. Among the things Lamar shared were his career ambitions, the most notable of which is to win a Super Bowl and become a billionaire – not necessarily in that order.
To his credit, Lamar has done quite well when you consider that he has no agent. Through 2025, Lamar has earned $187.3M in the NFL according to Spotrac. That ranks 23rd all-time. At the top of the list is Matt Stafford who has earn $408.3M. Perhaps the most surprising name on the list is a player recently signed by the Raiders. His name…Kirk Cousins.
A fourth-round pick by the then Washington Redskins back in 2012, the soon to be 38-year-old Cousins has earned a whopping $321.7M, good for 3rd all-time, $11M behind Tom Brady. That’s quite a feat for a quarterback who has just 1 playoff win in four playoff starts during his 14 seasons in the NFL. Kudos to Cousins’ agent Mike McCartney of Athlete Marketing and Clients. If Lamar really wants to become a billionaire, maybe he should give McCartney a call. Come to think of it, maybe Bruno Mars might want to do the same.
