NFL draft expert names ‘perfect fit’ for Chicago Bears
The 2026 NFL Draft is just over a week away as the league will welcome in the rookie class. As the NFL descends on Pittsburgh, there is starting to be more buzz surrounding the annual event.
For the Chicago Bears, they are set to pick at No. 25 overall after a successful season in the first year under Ben Johnson. This is the first time they have picked outside of the top 10 in the first round in the Ryan Poles era. With needs to fill, that No. 25 pick will be the focus fro Chicago in terms of finding some talent on the defensive side of the ball, where the majority of the needs are.
But there are other needs to address, including center. One NFL draft analyst from ESPN has his perfect fit for the Bears.
Chicago Bears would be a perfect fit for this prospect
Monday on Twitter, ESPN draft analyst Jordan Reid put out an interesting tweet about which center will be drafted first. It drew a lot of responses as he listed Logan Jones, Sam Hecht, Jake Slaughter, and Connor Lew. Fellow analyst Trevor Sikkema responded with support for Hectht which was followed up by this from Reid:
Love him to the Bears in Round 3. Perfect fit.

That’s the stamp of approval from Reid. With the Bears needing a center after Drew Dalman retired, targeting someone on day two or three makes sense. Chicago could land Hecht or another player on this list in the third round.
Yes, they do have Garrett Bradbury but he feels more like a stop-gap option. Even if Bradbury plays well, you still have a promising rookie for depth or to take over down the line.
While Hecht doesn’t have great size, his technique is what really stands out. He’s disciplined and has room to get better, so sitting for a year might benefit him.
