This Chicago White Sox prospect soars in latest Top 100 Prospects list
The Chicago White Sox have a lot of talent throughout their minor league system. After having a few seasons of struggling, they have ultimately been able to build up their farm system with top-tier talent. However, it is incumbent on the players to continue developing and getting better en route to the majors. One minor leaguer has shown that, jumping more than 30 spots in the latest update of the Top 100 prospects list.
There is a lot of excitement about the future of the White Sox as a result of this update. Let’s take a closer look at who the player is and what he has been doing to climb the prospect rankings.
Caleb Bonemer jumps into the top-15 prospects, per MLB Pipeline
According to MLB Pipeline, White Sox infielder Caleb Bonemer climbed the third-most spots of any player in their recent Top 100 prospects update. He jumped 31 spots to now being the 15th-ranked prospect in MLB. Only San Diego Padres prospect Ethan Salas (42) and New York Mets prospect A.J. Ewing (44) have risen more spots than him. Bonemer has been considered an excellent hitter with above-average power, but he is exceeding those expectations at High-A Winston-Salem. He is posting a .274/.418/.669 slash line with 13 home runs, 31 RBI, and 32 runs scored across 34 games in just his second year of professional baseball. His power has been off of pitchers with different levels of talent, including a rehabbing former AL Cy Young Award winner in Gerrit Cole.
The 13 home runs are already exceeding the number he hit across 107 games in 2025. The 20-year-old was selected in the second round of the 2024 MLB Draft and has been proving his ability to be an immediate impactful player. Of course, there are likely a few more years until he is ready to be penciled into the White Sox lineup in the majors, but he is already proving he is one of the best players in Minor League Baseball. Where Bonemer winds up playing is going to be intriguing as well. He has split time between third base and shortstop at Winston-Salem. Could he be the third baseman of the future for the White Sox, pairing with Colson Montgomery? Only time will tell, but he has shown all the signs to get the front office excited about the future.
