Chicago Bears: Caleb Williams makes bold prediction after learning Madden rating
For the first time in the history of the popular Madden football game, a Chicago Bears player will be on the cover. Starting quarterback Caleb Williams graces the cover this year, even though he is only entering his third season in the NFL. To this point in his career, he has not even made a Pro Bowl, but is easily one of the most popular, and therefore most marketable, players in the league.
The fact that he led Chicago to an NFC North title and had a signature postseason victory over the Green Bay Packers last season only boosted his appeal. In that light, he makes perfect sense as the Madden cover player.

After it was revealed that he was the Madden cover athlete, Williams was invited to be a guest on the “New Heights” podcast. This show is hosted by former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce and his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

The segment about the Madden rating began with Jason telling Travis that his rating for the 2026 NFL season is 91. As the Chiefs tight end is coming off a down year and may be playing his final season, he laughed and said, “I still got it!”
The former Eagles center then told Williams that his rating was high, but seemed kind of low for the cover athlete. Then, he told the Bears quarterback that his rating to start the year was 90.
“End of year it will be 99. Alright,” Williams responded.
99, of course, is the highest rating possible in the game. In order to attain that, Williams is really going to have to improve his completion percentage (58.1% last year), which has been a major focus of OTA’s so far this summer.
