Chicago Bulls being tied to Phoenix Suns center in sign-and-trade
This week will be an important one for the Chicago Bulls in terms of their rebuild. After moving in a new direction this offseason, the Bulls are entering the 2026 NBA Draft with two first-round picks. Bryson Graham and the rest of the front office will have those two picks plus a healthy cap space to work with this offseason.
While free agency doesn’t begin until June 30th, the rumors are already heating up.
For the Bulls, there has been some talk that two western conference teams are interested in guard Josh Giddey. Nothing has materialized just yet but it’s something to monitor. However, there is a report that the Bulls could be pursuing a center in a sign and trade to fill a roster need.
Chicago Bulls could target Mark Williams from Phoenix Suns
Going into the offseason, the Bulls have a lot of needs. But one of the biggest needs is at center. Chicago could take a young center at No. 15 overall in this draft but there’s also free agency to attempt to land one.
Evan Sidery mentioned the Bulls as an option for Phoenix Suns center Mark Williams:
“The Suns are open to bringing back Mark Williams on his one-year qualifying offer, but not a long-term deal,” Sidery wrote on X. “Phoenix will soon need to unleash former No. 10 overall pick Khaman Maluach as a starter. The Bulls are a team to monitor for Williams as a sign-and-trade candidate.”
Williams was traded to the Suns last offseason and appeared in 60 games while starting 55. He averaged 11.7 points and 8 rebounds per game for the Suns in his first season with the franchise. With the team taking center Khaman Maluach in the lottery last year, they could be inclined to move on from Williams.
He would solve a potential need the Bulls have at the center position and likely wouldn’t cost a lot to acquire in any deal.
