Chicago White Sox jump inside top-10 of latest MLB power rankings
The Chicago White Sox have not been a good team for a while. Or, more accurately, they had not been a good team for a while. Going into the 2026 MLB season, many people, including their own fans, had very low expectations for the team that had lost 100+ games in three consecutive seasons.
As a result, pre-season and early-season power rankings often found the White Sox at or near the bottom of their lists. A sweep at the hands of the Milwaukee Brewers on Opening Weekend did little to help matters.
Since that time, though, Chicago has taken the MLB world by storm and surprise.
The Chicago White Sox earn a 6th spot on latest MLB power rankings
Now 38-32, the White Sox are tied for the American League Central Division lead. After years of finishing in the cellar, they are now one of the best teams in the division, and are coming off of series wins against the Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers, the two best teams in all Major League Baseball.
As a result, they are now ranked sixth in MLB’s rankings:
“The Chicago White Sox have had one full winning season since 2013, and they have lost 100 games three consecutive seasons, including a nightmare 121-loss campaign in 2024. That’s a lot of pain for their fans, to say the least. But it is all starting to come together.

The season is not yet halfway over, and a lot can go wrong between now and the end of the year. However, the White Sox have overcome losing their most-feared slugger and have been able to win games with one of the youngest rosters in the game.
There will be bumps, as is natural in a 162-game season. But it certainly seems that the days of perpetual losing are over.
