Fever star Caitlin Clark wanted reporter to sanitize after interview
Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark ended her postgame television interview on Thursday night with a warning for a reporter.
“You might need some hand sanitizer,” the 24-year-old guard told Prime Video sideline reporter Kayla Grey after they shook hands following the interview.
The comment came after Clark revealed she played through an illness during Indiana’s 83-71 win over the Atlanta Dream.
The Fever listed her as “probable” before the game due to back soreness. Head coach Stephanie White said this designation will likely remain in place for the rest of the season. The move followed a last-minute injury designation for Clark last month that caught the WNBA’s attention.

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark battled stomach virus vs. Atlanta Dream
A sudden stomach issue caused Clark’s biggest problem on Thursday night. She had a vomiting incident at halftime but returned for the second half.
She later said that “some applesauce” she ate during intermission upset her stomach. The food sent her scrambling for a trash can to vomit. She admitted she had not thrown up like that in a long time.
Despite the setback, Clark stayed in the game and continued leading Indiana’s offense. She noted that puking even made her feel “light,” which helped her run well after halftime. She recorded 10 points, six rebounds and three assists in the second half.
The All-Star guard told Grey that her love for the game and her competitive drive pushed her to keep playing. She added that she would do anything she could to help the team win.
During the third quarter, Clark made a key defensive play to help Indiana maintain its double-digit lead. She also thrilled the crowd with a step-back three-pointer.
Clark finished the night with 17 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and one block. The victory over Atlanta was Indiana’s first in the 2026 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup tournament. It also improved the team’s record to 5-4 this season.
The Fever will seek back-to-back victories when they take on the New York Liberty on the road on Saturday.
