Sophie Cunningham reveals crucial injury update after Indiana Fever game
Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham just had her best game of the season on Tuesday night.
Cunningham went off for a season-high 24 points, helping lead the Fever to a 113-91 victory over the Toronto Tempo. The 6-foot-1 guard shot a very efficient 8-of-11 from the field, including 6-of-7 from three-point territory. She added six rebounds and two assists in 24 minutes off the bench.
Cunningham’s offensive onslaught came just three days after her heroics against the Connecticut Sun. On Saturday, the veteran scored 11 points in the final two minutes — including three triples — to help lift Indiana to an 85-75 victory.
Cunningham has been on a heater of late, and there are no signs of her slowing down anytime soon.

Sophie Cunningham shares positive update on elbow injury
Cunningham’s two-game hot streak comes after she was forced to sit out Indiana’s 114-106 win over the Chicago Sky on Thursday. The 29-year-old was sidelined by an elbow injury, marking her first missed game of the season.
On Tuesday, Cunningham revealed that her elbow is as good as new.
“It’s called a PRP shot in the elbow,” the Fever guard responded when asked postgame if she’s made any changes to her routine that may have led to her recent strong play.
“So no, I do think that just having a little bit of struggle with my elbow, but really did get that fixed. And now I’m starting to stay in my shot a little bit.”
.@TonyREast to #Fever guard Sophie Cunningham: “Did you change your routine before the last couple games?”
Cunningham, who didn’t see Tony: “Who’s talking? Oh, my gosh! Sorry!”
Tony asks again about Sophie’s hot shooting.

As it turns out, Cunningham had a Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injection on her elbow. It is a type of regenerative therapy that uses one’s own blood to accelerate recovery and stimulate cell regeneration. Apparently, the effect has been immediate for Cunningham.
The Fever vet also credited her team’s cohesiveness as a factor for her recent success.
“But also I think our team is just starting to catch a little bit of rhythm,” she said.
“We’re seeing what works. We’re sharing the ball. Defensively is allowing us really good offensive runs. And so I don’t think it’s just me. I think it’s our team as a whole.”
