Indiana Fever issue statement after security incident during Aces game
The Indiana Fever hosted the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday in a battle of two title contenders. Fans enjoyed an exciting game from start to finish, with the home crowd cheering loudly for their team. However, an incident in the third quarter stole the spotlight and went viral on social media. Security escorted three fans off the court. The incident happened during a break with 4:38 left in the third quarter.
Regulation ended with the score tied at 75-all, with Chelsea Gray forcing overtime. Caitlin Clark had a chance to ice the game but uncharacteristically missed two free throws. Gray knocked down a buzzer-beating three-pointer that stood after review. She repeated the feat in the extra period with another triple at the buzzer to give Las Vegas an 86-84 victory.
The Aces achieved their second consecutive win and their fourth in the last five games. The Fever, on the other hand, suffered their second straight loss, dropping their record to 19-12 for the season.

Indiana Fever addresses fan incident
Indiana issued a statement regarding the third-quarter incident. The team clarified that three people involved decided not to return to their seats despite not violating the WNBA’s Fan Code of Conduct.
“Following a report of a comment directed toward a player, arena security spoke with the fan involved and witnesses. Security determined there was no violation of the Fan Code of Conduct, the fan was not removed from the arena, but elected to leave. We consider the matter closed,” the Fever said.

The fans reportedly directed inappropriate comments toward Las Vegas guard Jackie Young. She then talked to the referees and security resulting to the fans’ ejection. However, it remains unclear what they said to Young.
Indiana will return to action on Saturday when they visit the Chicago Sky at the United Center. Meanwhile, Las Vegas will continue its road trip with a game versus the Minnesota Lynx on the same day.
