Lynx star addresses Caitlin Clark decision after beating Fever
Caitlin Clark’s first signature shoes is one of the most anticipated releases of the year. The Indiana Fever superstar has worn different colorways of the Nike Caitlin 1s, hyping fans even more. She gifted Minnesota Lynx guard Courtney Williams a pair, but she did not wear them on Sunday.
Clark and Indiana visited Williams and Minnesota at the Target Center. The home team prevailed in the highly-anticipated matchup and extended its winning streak to 10 games. The Lynx also improved to 25-6 for the season, widening the gap between them and the No. 2 team in the standings, the Las Vegas Aces.
Williams had a big game, recording 27 points, four rebounds and five assists. She backed Olivia Miles, who scored 28 points, grabbed four rebounds and provided six assists in the 108-100 victory. The Fever, on the other hand, relied on Kelsey Mitchell, who scored a game-high 37 points with six three-pointers, while Clark produced 19 points and 10 assists.

The three-time All-Star addressed the media after the game. She emphasized that she appreciates Clark and her gesture of giving her a pair of Nike Caitlin 1s. However, Williams made it clear that she had no plans of wearing them against Indiana.
“That’s my girl, man,” Williams said. “She asked me why I ain’t wear her shoes. I’m like, ‘C’mon bruh, I can’t wear your shoes against you.’”

Nike will release the Nike Caitlin 1s on Oct. 1. The Racer Blue colorway will retail for $140 and is expected to be sold out immediately. More silhouettes will likely be available soon, including the multicolor pair she wore during the All-Star game.
Clark and Co. will host the Las Vegas Aces in their next game on Thursday. Meanwhile, Williams and Minnesota will aim to secure 11 straight wins against the Los Angeles Sparks on the same day.
