Colston Loveland sends strong message to Bears fans before NFL season
Colston Loveland gave Chicago Bears fans a lot of reasons to be excited about last year. The then-rookie emerged as one of the best young stars in the NFL, and he sent a strong message to the team’s fans ahead of the 2026 season.
The Bears selected him at No. 10 overall and he immediately made his presence felt. Loveland enjoyed a strong run with the Michigan Wolverines, winning the national championship in 2023. He earned second-team All-American and second-team All-Big Ten honors in his final year with the program.
Loveland finished last season with 58 receptions for 713 yards and six touchdowns. He is set to become Chicago’s TE1, which allows him to further strengthen his on-field connection with Caleb Williams.

The 22-year-old stressed his excitement for 2026. He also highlighted that the front office, coaches and players equip the Bears with the right personnel.
“Very excited,” Loveland said. “We’ve got a lot of tools, and I feel like we have all the pieces, starting from the top down with our GM, head coach (and) owners. Fans should feel really good. We’re working out there, I’d like to say a lot harder than a lot of teams. We practice hard, we run to the ball, we finish. Those are big emphases. Good things to come, hopefully, God willing. Shout out to Bears fans, man. They’re great.”

Loveland and the Bears are scheduled to play seven primetime games. The increased nationally-televised games will give fans around the country more chances to see them play live and prove that they are the real deal. Chicago is coming off an NFC North title with an 11-6 record. The team also reached the Divisional Round before losing 20-17 in overtime to the Los Angeles Rams. Loveland and Co. are hungry for more success and want nothing less than a deeper playoff run.
