Cubs Pete Crow-Armstrong backed by Chicago’s fellow stars
Fans at Wrigley Field were fired up for the Chicago Cubs’ 2-1 win over the Brewers on Thursday night. In an up-and-down series, the Cubs split the four-game set with Milwaukee. Too late to make a run at the division, but they need to stay in the top Wild Card race.
One of the big stories from the game was, shockingly, MVP candidate Pete Crow-Armstrong. The 24-year-old All Star slugged his 39th homer of the season, which ended up being the decider. Sitting in the front row cheering him on were Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, Chicago Bulls top draft pick Caleb Williams, Bulls forward Matas Buzelis, and music video creator Cole Bennett.

During the game, Crow-Armstrong acknowledged his friends in the crowd, resulting in the group pounding on the dugout roof, then leading the crowd in a “PCA! PCA!” chant. It’s well known that Crow-Armstrong is close with Williams. They have been going to each other’s games and have taken in Bulls and Blackhawks games together. Buzelis has been part of the “friendship mix” too, and it seems Wilson is now embracing this group.
In a city starved for success again, this means a lot to Chicago fans. One cannot underestimate the pride and joy it creates for the city. Personalities win people over, and Chicago takes their sports teams to heart. It’s like they are one of us. These are moments fans remember for a long time. It also speaks to how Crow-Armstrong is cementing himself in Chicago lore.
