… government agencies to do things like this. Nor is it madness or just Wokeness or Progressivism or Conservativism. It is human government!

We could fill the pages of this webzine/commentary for years with examples of justice twisted, perverted, and denied. Kiriakou is just one of thousands of people who have suffered from injustice. Even when they were themselves part of the machine that ground them up and spit them out.

American military officers (at least most of them) and even some American politicians and government leaders once understood a basic principle. What? That men and women who stand up for the right, for liberty, for justice, for others, often have to pay a horrible price. It is understood by those who wrote and signed the Declaration of Independence, who realized that they were putting not just their lives and their fortunes on the line, but also their “sacred honor” – that they would be vilified, condemned, and considered “without honor” because they valued certain important matters more than the people around them.

Disobeying a direct order, breaking rules and regulations, revealing deep secrets (sometimes secrets you have sworn to protect) for the right reasons is going to be condemned and punished. It takes moral courage – and a lot of it – to do the right thing.

The following is a commentary by a correspondent, Bob Malone:

Have we stopped prosecuting the truth-tellers?

John Kiriakou was the whistleblower who exposed the CIA torture program. For doing this, he was convicted and imprisoned for 30 months, while none of the officials who ordered or carried out torture were criminally charged under the Obama administration (or prior).

He was a former CIA officer who publicly confirmed in December 2007 that the CIA had used the torture technique known as waterboarding on the al-Qaeda suspect Abu Zubaydah. Yet he is the only CIA officer who was criminally prosecuted regarding the interrogation program. None of those involved in the illegal torture program set up by the CIA were ever charged or persecuted.

To be clear: the CIA’s post-9/11 “enhanced interrogation” or waterboarding program did not produce uniquely valuable intelligence that couldn’t have been obtained by lawful means. That conclusion has been reached by the U.S. Senate, intelligence oversight bodies, and multiple later reviews.

It is believed that Kiriakou’s prosecution was effectively a retrospective punishment for his whistle-blowing on torture. Obama decided not to prosecute any CIA officers, officials, or contractors involved in torture, his administration invoking the “look forward, not backward” doctrine. However, while declining to prosecute those who ordered or committed torture, which is illegal under the law. Obama’s Department of Justice, under Attorney General Eric Holder, went after John Kiriakou, using the 1917 Espionage Act, a law originally designed to punish spies. Yep- basically more lawfare.

This has effectively silenced other whistleblowers within the government who might have come forward during Biden’s authoritarian regime.

Never forget – The Biden administration persecuted those who were in Trump 1.0 when he came to power.

Can you imagine what would have happened if Kamala had become president?

Adding to Bob’s thoughts – we here at TPOL don’t fully agree with him, but think what he is talking about is important to share.

It isn’t just the Democrats, particularly Obummer and Uncle Joe and Kammie the Kommie that we need to worry about. It is BOTH old parties, and the various “third parties” that come and go across the political landscape. It is not JUST the Deep State – it is the professional politicians and the rank-and-file government workers (and not just the unionists). And it is far too many “average people” who desire security rather than liberty; who want to suck off the government (taxpayer’s) teat. Far too many people who buy the hype, the sizzle, and let the politicians do anything!
