Tiny, minimalist houses have been around for many years now, and the demand for smaller living spaces has been increasing, but the world’s narrowest house really takes things to another level. It’s designed to offer all the amenities of a modern home, but in a space that is only 63 centimetres wide.
Designed and owned by local man Fabio Moreno, the slim house of Aucallama aims to convey the idea that happiness doesn’t depend on the size of a house, but rather on making the most of the space you have available. Its narrow frame and bright colors have already attracted thousands of visitors, and it will likely become a popular tourist attraction.
Although it might seem like just an outdoor art installation, the world’s narrowest house has most of the bells and whistles of a modern home, including a bathroom, kitchen, dining room, hallway, bedroom, study, laundry area, as well as two staircases connecting its two levels. And somehow, all this is crammed into a space just 63 centimetres in width.
Located right across the main square of Aucallama, the world’s narrowest house can be visited by curious passers-by, but the narrow space makes it very difficult for two or more people to check out its interior, due to its size.
Fabio Moreno has already sent his application to Guinness World Records for the title of ‘world’s narrowest house,’ but it might take a little while to receive the confirmation. Guinness must first conduct a verification process that includes official measurements and technical documentation. However, Moreno is confident about bagging the world record.
