Are You a Teacher or Leader of a False Religion? If So, You Need to Be Aware of These Consequences.
Posted Aug 24, 2025 | End Times Watch | River Wilde
Because of my teachings as a child, I have spent a great deal of time teaching and participating in a religion which I have now come to realize is full of false doctrine. I have felt great remorse in participating in leading others astray from the true teaching that Jesus Christ taught while He was on the earth. I have indeed spent some time repenting for my actions. This was not done intentionally, yet I take full responsibility for all of the things that I have done.
Because of this, I have spent some time studying this topic. How does God feel about those who teach “False Gospels?” Are there consequences for those unrepentant people who do this?
The Bible warns us plainly: those who twist God’s Word or lead others astray will face severe judgment. This is not a light matter. If you are a teacher, pastor, priest, prophet, or leader who teaches doctrines that are not found in the Word of God, you need to pause and consider the eternal consequences.
1. Stricter Judgment for Teachers
“My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.”
(James 3:1, KJV)
Those who take the role of teaching are held to a higher standard. If you mislead God’s people—even unintentionally—you will be accountable before the Lord. Do I have your attention yet?
2. Woe to Those Who Preach Another Gospel
“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”
(Galatians 1:8–9, KJV)
This is one of the strongest warnings in all of Scripture. If you add to, take away from, or change the Gospel of Jesus Christ, you bring upon yourself a curse. No prophet, no angel, no new revelation has the right to change what God has already established in His Word.
3. The Blind Leading the Blind
“Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.”
(Matthew 15:14, KJV)
False leaders are spiritually blind, and those who follow them fall into destruction alongside them. This is a sobering truth: deceiving others also destroys your own soul. There will be a time very soon when you will see that following false leaders will potentially lead you directly into the deceptive hands of the antichrist. I know this to be true!
4. Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing
“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.”
(Matthew 7:15, KJV)
False teachers may look kind, holy, and godly on the outside, but inside they devour souls. God sees beyond the mask. Do you think that satan is not cleaver enough to have infiltrated some churches by having their leader(s) support him behind closed doors, with the intent to take the entire congregation with him in following the antichrist. But why would they do this? You might want to take a look at the financial empire of the church. Money, fame, prestige, and power are a few reasons that come to my mind.
5. The Eternal End of Deceivers
“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
(Revelation 21:8, KJV)
Those who lie about God, His Word, or His Gospel will face the lake of fire. This is not symbolic—it is the ultimate, eternal judgment for deceivers.
6. God’s Call to Repent
But God, in His mercy, also extends a way of escape.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
(1 John 1:9, KJV)
Even false teachers can repent. Even religious leaders who have twisted truth can turn back to God, confess their sins, and receive forgiveness through Jesus Christ.
I have spent a great deal of time thinking about others who are in the same position that I was, teaching and participating in a false religion. The ironic thing is that most of them do not question leaders or doctrine because they feel that this is a sign of weakness on their part. They have been taught to follow the leaders without question.
Many have had doubts of the doctrine of the church, but choose not to explore those doubts any further, thinking that in doing so would reflect poorly upon them. But who are they truly offending by doing this? They are pleasing their leaders, but at the same time, they are offending God. They have become lazy learners, not wanting to study and find out the truth for themselves, trusting that these same leaders will tell them what to do.
I think of all of the people who have been disciplined by church courts for speaking out regarding the false teachings of the church, and trying to teach the true gospel of Jesus Christ. Punishing people who were only trying to do as our Savior would have them do by teaching of Him, because it makes the church look bad. Can you see the error in supporting a church over defending God?
I pray that these people who serve on these church courts see that THEY have the accountability here, and not the people who are preaching of the true gospel of Jesus Christ. Punishing someone for teaching and defending God has consequences for those individuals who participate. Is it worth defending a church that will not be present in heaven, especially while you are offending God in the process?
I invite you all to learn the true gospel as Christ Himself taught while He was on the earth. As you study the New Testament, you will CLEARLY see what that gospel is, and how it conflicts with the gospel that you are defending. If you are teaching anything that is not in the Word of God, stop now. Repent, and turn back to the truth of the Gospel—that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3–4).
Eternal consequences await those who deceive others in God’s name. But mercy and grace are still available while there is time.
“Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
(2 Corinthians 6:2, KJV)
Don’t let pride or power blind you. Return to God’s Word, cling to Christ alone, and lead others only in the truth that is written in the Scriptures. It is difficult for all of us to recognize that we have been deceived by trusted church leaders, but we have a responsibility to learn the truth for ourselves. Once we learn the truth, it is imperative that we stop teaching the false doctrines, for we will be held accountable should we continue doing so.
There is only one truth. I love that! It doesn’t matter what a person believes. It doesn’t matter if the “Popular Vote” goes against truth, for it will not be changed. The truth will stand forever. There will not be a Mormon God in Heaven, Nor a Jewish God their either. There will be only One God, for ALL mankind. There is only ONE gospel of Jesus Christ and it is recorded in the New Testament. We will not be separated in heaven based upon our church’s beliefs. Our relationship will be with Jesus Christ, with no one nor any church standing in between us.
I invite you to “Hunger for Truth,” and seek it yourself. Do not let others tell you what is true…Learn it for yourself. If you think that you already know the truth, why is your heart telling you otherwise? Doubt is an emotion that God is sending to His children who are in a false religion, especially now when there is so much riding upon the deception that is to come.
It has come down to this. You are responsible for your spirituality. You are responsible to seek and find the truth. Excuses that your leader told you not to question them, nor study things outside their words will not be honored by God.
I have found the truth, and you certainly can too. It is so obvious as you study His words in the New Testament. There are tools today that easily help you enhance your study. Do a search for all scripture in the KJV of the bible that deal with a certain topic that you would like to study. This will give you ALL of the information, and not just one scripture that is supported by the church which reflects their doctrine.
Study “Saved by Grace” vs “Saved by our Works.” Study how the temple veil was ripped when the savior fulfilled the atoning sacrifice. Study tithing as it was taught by the Savior. Not a commandment of 10%, but to be given Freely to those in need, and not to a church. Study the Two Judgments: The Judgment Seat of Christ, and the Great White Thorne Judgment. Within just hours of your study, you will come to discover a great deal of truth that conflicts with your current teachings. Remember, there can only be one truth.

A man is a slave to whom ever he calls pastor! Yet life in Christ relies solely on a relationship guided by the Holy Spirit. The Word of God offers us a story line, a history lesson, a standard of righteousness, a way of conduct, a form of admonishment, a view of authority, an example of service, and a description of our King and His Kingdom; all of which explains why we intellectually embrace doctrine in the way that we do. However all these aspects of the Word appeal to our natural human drive to succeed and we can find ourselves void of a relationship with the Godhead. Surprisingly there are only two examples; “ONLY TWO” within the entire Bible that tell us how to enter into the supernatural life of the Savior.
The first leads to redemption in Christ. By the shed blood of Jesus we were freed from sin and brought into the life of the Savior. That transition was based on our participation in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. That’s right; Jesus/Yeshua’s death, burial and resurrection was the place of our own death, burial and resurrection. It freed us of the confines of a sinful past and changed how we live, move and have our being.
Romans 6:5-7 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.
Within that moment we also gained a renewed mind and heart and became a new creation in Christ, one able to now be guided by the gentle leading of the Holy Spirit within (Walking by the Spirit).
The second supernatural discovery is a means of gaining transformation when our lives have yet to reflect the life of our Savior. If pressed by a fallen world it means that we don’t always make right choices. Those decisions hang upon us like a weight and once again make us a slave to the world. Yet based on a continued embrace of what Jesus did on the Cross we call upon the Holy Spirit to free us of these many physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual chains. Hence in a similar manner that we once asked for salvation we also ask the Holy Spirit for greater victory. This is the biblical basis for what we call “deliverance”. Paul the Apostle says it best;
Romans 8:13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.
If you had an off switch how many ways would to want to use it; what attitudes and actions would you want to leave behind? Our trust in what Jesus did on the Cross offers us an incredible journey of discovery. Since the deeds of the flesh interrupt new life in so many ways; we are offered a chance to lay down every hindrance that still lingers. That includes any number of poor choices hampering what we do in body, soul, spirit, mind, will, emotions, conscience and subconscious, sexuality, authority, identity, Christianity, family, marriage, communication, business, finances, and gender. The result is an opportunity to become more like Jesus and gain a clearer view of the will of our God and King.
