“Christ’s Church” in the KJV of the Bible – Why A Single Religion Can NOT Make This Claim.

Religion. A great concept in order to teach people about Jesus Christ, but when it comes to the end times, a religious organization creates some confusion regarding the events of the last days.
So, what is “Christ’s Church” as it relates to the His teachings in the New Testament? Is it an actual building, or specific organization? Let’s take a moment to learn more about this.
In the King James Version (KJV), the term “church” comes from the Greek word ekklesia, meaning assembly or called-out ones. The Bible speaks of Christ’s church not as a building or denomination, but as His people who believe in Him.
Here are some key passages about Christ’s church in the KJV:
Christ is the foundation of the church
- Matthew 16:18 – “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
(The “rock” is Christ Himself, the chief cornerstone – not Peter personally. See also 1 Corinthians 3:11.)
In this scripture, Jesus was telling Peter to continue preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. This GOSPEL was “Christ’s Church,” yet it had nothing to do with a religion institution, nor a physical building. Read that again…
We must see how Jesus Christ Himself taught others while He was on the earth. He did not go into a building called “A Specific Name” where He would teach the people. From the very beginning, Christ taught in a One-on-one scenario. NOTHING was between Christ and the receiver of His gospel. Specifically, we know that there wasn’t a “Religion” or “Organization” that would be placed between Him and the believer.
Christ is the head of the church
- Ephesians 1:22-23 – “And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.”
- Colossians 1:18 – “And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.”
The church is Christ’s body (the believers)
- 1 Corinthians 12:27 – “Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.”
- Ephesians 5:23 – “For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.”
The church is built on Christ, not on men
- 1 Corinthians 3:11 – “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
Christ loved the church and gave Himself for it
- Ephesians 5:25 – “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.”
Christ’s church is not an earthly organization or denomination, but the body of all true believers who have placed their faith in Him. He is the head, the foundation, and the savior of the church. The church belongs to Him alone, not to men.
When you understand this concept of Christ’s church, the events of the end times begin to make sense. Let me give you an example.
If a church claims to be the ONLY True church on the earth, that would mean that Jesus Christ would come for the members of this specific church when He comes for the Rapture. I find it ironic as well that this specific church doesn’t even teach about the Rapture….But let’s continue.
There are MANY people, “INDIVIDUALS” that have given their life to Jesus Christ. They have invited Him into their life and have seen a transformation into becoming Somone very different that they previously were. They have essentially been “Born Again.” They understand the atonement of Jesus Christ, and have accepted this sacrifice into their own life, repenting of their sins to receive forgiveness. By doing this, they are demonstrating the faith which is necessary to acknowledge this commitment toward Jesus Christ.
These people that I have just mentioned belong to numerous Christian Churches on earth, “Religions.” This is a very important detail. It is NOT the church itself that qualifies a person to be a follower of Jesus Christ, rather, it is the individual’s commitment directly towards the Savior.
All of these people that I have mentioned belong to, “Christ’s Church.” This is EXACTLY what Christ was teaching in the New Testament.
So, when Jesus comes for “His Church” during the rapture, He will be seeking “ALL of those who have accepted Him as their Savior.” This makes perfect sense to me.
When we learn about the end times, we must disassociate the term CHURCH as we have been taught, and see it how Jesus intended it….”All of His followers”.
Now, (Get ready for this one)… understanding this, can’t you see that one church is not more special than another? Quite frankly, “Religions” mean very little to Jesus Christ, for it is HIM that we worship, not a mortal church, nor Prophet, nor leader, nor really great guy. Our religious relationship is unblocked, and resides directly between us and Jesus Christ Himself.
Having a “Testimony” of this concept allows you to see many other things clearly. When we see things this way, we understand that what some churches teach is simply not true. We do not need to go through Joseph Smith, Nor Mary, nor any religious rules to get to Jesus Christ. We access Him directly.
Furthermore, when a church implies that we need to go through them to receive forgiveness for our sins, the same principle applies. “There is no person, nor church that stands in between us and Jesus Christ. In fact, the scriptures teach this exact thing:
According to the Bible, forgiveness of sins is only through Jesus Christ—not through any church, priest, prophet, or religious system.
The KJV makes this very clear:
- Acts 4:12 – “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
- 1 Timothy 2:5 – “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
- Ephesians 1:7 – “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.”
- 1 John 1:9 – “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
We don’t need a man, an institution, or rituals to access forgiveness—only Christ’s blood and grace.
The churches of MEN also have additional rules, rituals, and boxes to check off so that a person can get to heaven. These vary from church to church, but are they necessary in order for us to receive salvation? Let’s lean on the scriptures for guidance here.
According to the Bible (KJV), salvation and eternal life do not come through rituals, ceremonies, or church-made rules — they come through Jesus Christ alone.
Here are a few key scriptures:
- John 14:6 – “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
→ Jesus Himself is the way, not a set of church rituals. - Ephesians 2:8–9 – “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
→ Salvation is a gift, not earned by rules or ceremonies.
This BLOWS some religious teaching right out of the water. STOP BELIEVING SUCH DECEPTION!!!!!! Many churches teach that it is up to us to do all that we can do before the atonement of Jesus Christ kicks in. As this scripture above CLEARLY explains, our salvation has NOTHING to do with our works. We do not earn our way into heaven…”Not of works, least any man should boast.”
STOP believing these false teachings, for they are offensive to God. Jesus Christ COMPLETED the Atonement Himself. Your WORKS have nothing to do with it. It is the adversary that wants to discredit the atonement, making you think that you have something to do with it, and that Christ can not fulfill this without your help. It is our job to willfully accept His atonement, as well as repent, but our works do not earn our way into heaven.
Here are some more scriptures…
- Romans 10:9 – “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
→ Belief in Christ is the requirement, not man-made ordinances. - Acts 16:31 – “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”
Now, while the New Testament does describe fellowship, baptism, breaking of bread, prayer, and teaching as important practices (Acts 2:42), these are expressions of faith, not conditions for salvation. Please understand the difference here.
Many churches add their own traditions, rules, or rituals and make them requirements for heaven. But Jesus warned about this:
- Mark 7:7–9 – “Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men… Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.”
Bottom line:
- Rituals and church rules cannot save you.
- Only faith in Jesus Christ — His death, burial, and resurrection — saves.
- Good works, obedience, and fellowship follow as fruit of genuine faith, not as tickets to heaven.
It is time to start seeing the Gospel of Jesus Christ clearly as He taught in the New Testament. Unfortunately, religions are just adding to the confusion of His gospel, which is again a tactic of the adversary.
So, Jesus will be coming to Rapture His Church…”ALL of those who claim that Jesus Christ is their Savior,” will be caught up. and not one specific church. I invite you to consider this truth, for it will also help you see beyond the religious deception that is happening upon the earth right now.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is simple. He taught it ALL to us in the writing of the New Testament. Anything more is just the “Teachings of Men,” and should be IGNORED!!!!! Christ has even told us this in His Gospel. Let’s look.
Deuteronomy 4:2 (KJV)
“Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.”
Deuteronomy 12:32 (KJV)
“What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.”
Proverbs 30:5–6 (KJV)
“Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.”
Here Christ even calls those that add to His word, a “LIAR”
Revelation 22:18–19 (KJV)
“For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book,
If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy,
God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”
Galatians 1:8–9 (KJV)
“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.”
Paul is saying: not even an angel has the right to alter the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
If anyone tries, they are under God’s curse.
Together, these passages show God’s seriousness about preserving His Word exactly as given — not twisting, subtracting, or adding human traditions or ideas that would distort the truth.
I invite you all to continue in your search for truth. Many of us have learned that we have been deceived by leaders of our church, and yet the Great Deception of the end times has not even occurred yet.
Explore your relationship with Jesus Christ DIRECTLY, without the filler of a church. You will be spending an eternity with Jesus Christ. Your church will not be there in heaven. It is time for you to nurture the relationship that you have with Him now.

UN-LEARNING OUR RELIGIOUS ROOTS!
The principle role of the church is to unite believers under One Head who is Christ and equip her to succeed by the strength and authority of the Holy Spirit. This implies a connection based on a spiritual union and interaction with Jesus/Yeshua. Its all about a Spiritual relationship. Yet all too often the believer gets kidnapped at new birth by an organization built upon an intellectual and corporate pursuit of god. Such knowledge and insight feeds mans appetites and starves his spiritual relationship with the Holy Spirit.
Keep in mind when intellect rules the church we call upon other spirits to validate each individual claim. This is why we have so many christian denominations left divided and ruled by other powers. Yet when Jesus is our only pursuit the Word offers us revelation and nurtures relationship.
Intellect first = being owned by men and demons a like.
Jesus first = being known and knowing our God
Colossians 3:5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly (and Religious) nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.
How do we do this? In the same manner that we asked for salvation we also ask God for transformation. Here’s another verse that confirms it’s about trusting Him to free us of our religious past.
Romans 8:13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.
