White Gold Completes Drill Holes Across Three Deposits, More Underway
Source: Streetwise Reports 07/31/2026
White Gold Corp. (WGO:TSX.V; WHGOF:OTCQX; 29W:FRA) completed 18 drill holes totaling roughly 7,000 meters across Golden Saddle, VG, and Ryan’s Surprise, its largest-ever exploration program.
Gold investors are paying attention to a new exploration update from White Gold Corp.’s (WGO:TSX.V; WHGOF:OTCQX; 29W:FRA) properties in the Yukon.
Key Takeaways
According to the company:
- A total of 18 diamond drill holes, totaling approximately 7,000 meters (m), have been completed to date in 2026. Three drill rigs are currently in operation, advancing the largest exploration drill program in the company’s history on these deposits.
- Golden Saddle: Three holes have been completed, testing expansion of the high-grade core (1.1 million ounces Au (gold) indicated (12.3 million tonnes of 2.84 g/t Au)) and 93,000 ounces inferred (1.4 Mt of 2.03 g/t Au)), and parallel zones of mineralization in both the hangingwall and footwall.
- VG: Five holes have been completed to extend mineralization down plunge and along strike toward the east.
- Ryan’s Surprise: Seven stepout holes have been completed to expand mineralization along strike, both east and west away from currently defined mineralization.
- Mapping and prospecting on multiple new early-stage targets across the White and QV properties have identified potential new high-priority targets, including the Golden Saddle 2.0 and the VG East targets.
- Relogging and sampling have commenced on previously unassayed footwall and hangingwall host rocks at Golden Saddle, which were not assayed in historical drilling but may host additional mineralization.
Expanded Drilling to Continue
On July 29, 2026, White Gold announced an update on its 2026 drill program in Yukon’s emerging White Gold district. With its fully funded program, White Gold is spending 2026 expanding the company’s known gold resources by targeting high-probability near-deposit mineralization on its Golden Saddle, Arc, Ryan’s Surprise, and VG deposits. The company also hopes to make new discoveries in close proximity to its known deposits.
White Gold’s 2025 program highlighted intervals including 56.10m of 3.23 grams per tonne gold (WHTGS25D0216) and 50.2 m of 6.89 g/t Au (WHTGS25D0218A) at Golden Saddle, complemented by expansion drilling at Arc, Ryan’s Surprise, and VG. These results have led to the significantly larger 2026 program, in which the company has identified new high-priority targets that are being prepared for diamond drilling. This program is supported by a partnership with Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. (AEM:TSX; AEM:NYSE) and targets 15,000-20,000 meters using three diamond drill rigs.
Dylan Langille, VP of Exploration at White Gold, discussed the program in the release. Langille said: “With 18 holes and over 7,000m completed so far, this program is off to a strong start on our core objective: growing the resource base around our four known deposits: Golden Saddle, VG, Arc and Ryan’s Surprise, which all remain open, and we’re excited about the early signals we’re seeing at Golden Saddle 2.0 and VG East as well. Combined with the Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) now in the final stages, 2026 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for the White Gold project.”
In a follow-up, David D’Onofrio, CEO of White Gold, said, “The White Gold project represents one of Canada’s highest-grade open-pittable deposits, which has been delineated with relatively much less drilling as compared to deposits of similar size. With the deposits being open for expansion and the additional targets in close proximity, we are quite optimistic for the continued growth potential. The value of our significant and growing resource base is now also complemented by the recent developments in the White Gold district and the additional attention to the Yukon as a whole, further validating the potential of White Gold’s truly district-scale opportunity.”
Drilling program progress so far includes:
- Golden Saddle deposit: 1.614 Moz indicated (31.03 Mt @ 1.62 g/t Au) + 268,700 oz inferred (7.84 Mt @ 1.07 g/t Au); from 210 drill holes (~61,000 m). High-grade orebody down-plunge extension: 695,000 oz indicated (4.4 Mt @ 4.88 g/t Au). Remaining work: extension/expansion of main and parallel zones, strike growth toward Golden Saddle West, and relogging/sampling of unsampled core.
- VG deposit: 296,000 oz inferred (6.285 Mt @ 1.46 g/t Au) from 65 drill holes (~7,600 m). Mineralization modeled to 200 m depth, cone-shaped due to limited drilling. Down-plunge growth tested; step-down and strike extension drilling remain.
- Ryan’s Surprise: Footprint ~550 m N-S × 500 m E-W to 650 m depth, open at strike and depth. Contains 293,400 oz inferred (5.82 Mt @ 1.57 g/t Au) from 35 drill holes (~8,370 m). Drilling so far: ~75 m stepouts east/west; further strike and depth extension planned. Located 1.5 km west of Golden Saddle along the 6.5 km × 1 km Ryan’s trend, which hosts other early-stage targets.
- Arc deposit: 115,800 oz indicated (4.113 Mt @ 0.88 g/t Au) + 397,000 oz inferred (12.25 Mt @ 1.01 g/t Au) across 1.5 km strike, ~100 m avg depth; from 73 drill holes (~15,000 m). Limited drilling below 120 m offers growth potential; further drilling is planned for H2 of the exploration program.
- Golden Saddle 2.0: ~2.5 km east-southeast of Golden Saddle, south of the east-west sinistral fault controlling Golden Saddle/Arc mineralization. Geophysical signature (magnetic lineaments intersecting the main fault) resembles Golden Saddle’s, suggesting a structural “sweet spot” for gold mineralization. Supported by ultramafic units and an east-west gold-in-soil anomaly. 2026 rock samples show similar lithology/alteration to Golden Saddle. Untested; follow-up plans being evaluated.
- VG East target: ~1.3 km east-northeast of VG deposit, south of the same controlling structure. Defined by a 500 m × 200 m gold-in-soil anomaly, undrilled. Faulting may have displaced part of the VG deposit eastward. Drilling is planned.
The release also noted that government backing of mining in Canada may assist in broader exploration projects. ” On June 26, 2026, Tim Hodgson, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, announced that the federal government will prioritize financial and regulatory support for five priority transmission projects across Canada, including an approximately 800-kilometer, 200-plus-kilovolt, high-voltage, direct-current transmission line connecting Yukon’s grid to British Columbia. The announcement advances the federal government’s national electricity strategy, launched by Prime Minister Mark Carney on May 14, 2026, which aims to double the capacity of Canada’s grid by 2050,” it reported.
White Gold Corp. is an exploration and development company that owns a portfolio of 15,364 quartz claims across 21 properties, which represents roughly 40% of the Yukon’s emerging White Gold district.
Gold Falls as Fed Holds Rates
Junior miners and exploration companies hit the ground running this year after gold rallied at a high of US$5,500 per ounce in January. Many companies chose to begin exploration or production amid these highs. While prices have since fallen, and even dipped below US$4,000 in June, rates are still up 24% compared to July 2025, and Gold.org wrote that: “[T]he stage is set for a possible breakout. On the upside, clear catalysts — a worsening economy or renewed geopolitical shock, a shift towards lower interest-rate expectations, or a wave of dip buying — could reignite gold’s momentum and lift it back towards US$4,500/oz or above.”
On July 30, 2026, Trading Economics reported that “. . . gold fell below US$4,050 an ounce on Thursday, giving back the previous session’s gains as traders reassessed the Federal Reserve’s policy outlook after the central bank left interest rates unchanged.” The article went on to argue that “Markets are now pricing in roughly a 67% chance of a 25-basis-point Fed rate hike in September, up from 56% a day earlier, while expectations for a larger 50-basis-point increase have largely disappeared.” Higher interest rates are a response to inflation, and combined with a stronger dollar, raise the opportunity cost of holding a non-yielding metal.
In April, S&P Global wrote, “Gold is expected to remain volatile but structurally supported, with central bank demand and geopolitical risk helping to establish a price floor above recent correction lows.”
Expert Calls Out 2-for-1 Special on Stock
On July 31, Bob Moriarty of 321gold.com gave Streetwise Reports an exclusive quote, saying: “White Gold is running a 2-for-1 special until August 11, where the company intends to spin out six critical metals projects in the West Central Yukon to existing White Gold shareholders. That half a dozen properties contain non-core deposits of copper, moly, tungsten, and other critical metals, while White Gold focuses on their 40% interest in the entire White Gold district. White Gold has already reported about three million ounces of the highest grade gold in the district.”
Maiden PEA Nears Completion
The company’s 2026 drill program will continue, with the maiden PEA on the White Gold project underway and expected to be delivered along with drill assays in the near term.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is a diamond drill program?
A: A diamond drill program uses a hollow drill with an industrial diamond bit to recover cylindrical rock core from underground. The core allows geologists to study rock types, mineralization, and gold grades in detail.
Q: What does it mean when a mineral deposit is “open”?
A: When a deposit is described as open, it means drilling has not yet identified its full extent. Additional exploration could potentially expand the known resource, although future drilling may or may not be successful.
Q: What is a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA)?
A: A Preliminary Economic Assessment is an early-stage engineering and economic study that evaluates whether a mineral deposit could potentially be developed into a mine. It provides preliminary estimates of production, costs, and project economics but is not a final feasibility study.
Q: Why do companies re-examine older drill core?
A: As geological understanding improves, companies often revisit historical drill core using new exploration models or modern analytical techniques. Re-examining previously sampled—or unsampled—rock can sometimes identify mineralization that was overlooked during earlier exploration.
Q: What is a mineral resource?
A: A mineral resource is an estimate of the amount of mineralization believed to be present based on drilling, sampling, and geological evidence. Resources are classified according to the level of confidence in the available data and are not the same as mineral reserves, which have demonstrated economic viability.
