JetNation NFL Power Rankings for November: Eagles rise, Jets eye a bounce back
NFL Power Rankings time again. Somehow, it’s November already, so let’s see how the month stacks up for the league’s elite, and where the Jets land.
NFL Power Rankings 1. Philadelphia Eagles 6-2 (Last Week: 3)
The Eagles take over the top spot without taking the field. Philly added veteran CB Jaire Alexander during the bye week.
November: GB, DET, @DAL, CHI. If the Eagles can win in GB and hold serve at home against the Lions, they should be 10-2 heading into December, riding high.
2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 6-2 (Last Week: 4)
The Bucs had an extra week to prepare for surprising New England. Sunday is the start of a brutal month for Tampa.
November: NE, @BUF, @LAR, AZ. Tampa’s November opponents are 22-12 combined. A 2-2 split would be a major accomplishment.
3. Los Angeles Rams 6-2 (Last Week: 6)
The Rams swatted the Saints on Sunday as any good team should. Matthew Stafford is climbing in the MVP race, sixth in passer rating (113.2) with 21 TDs and just 2 INTs.
November: @SF, SEA, TB, @CAR. No easy weeks as the Panthers are suddenly a playoff contender. A strong November sets up a home-field push.
4. Indianapolis Colts 7-2 (Last Week: 1)
Sunday’s loss brings doubt back to Indy. A trip to KC in two weeks is the next chance to quiet the naysayers.
November: ATL, @KC, HOU, @JAC. Still a blueprint for postseason success. 3-1 feels realistic and keeps them in the home-field hunt.
5. Seattle Seahawks 6-2 (Last Week: 8)
Seattle rolled the Commanders from the opening kick. Mike Macdonald won’t get New England-level headlines, but he’s a Coach of the Year candidate.
November: AZ, @LAR, @TEN, MIN. The trip to Los Angeles in two weeks is huge; a win there puts Seattle in the division’s driver’s seat.
6. Buffalo Bills 6-2 (Last Week: 9)
Buffalo held on for a huge win against KC. They had to have it—another loss would’ve been a blow to confidence.
November: @MIA, TB, @HOU, @PIT. A tough slate with limited home cooking. Anything less than a split pushes them toward the wildcard path.
7. Detroit Lions 5-3 (Last Week: 2)
Detroit is missing last year’s spark. Without changes, a return to the conference title game feels unlikely.
November: @WAS, @PHI, NYG, GB. They should go 3-1, but Sunday’s home loss to the Vikings was a red flag.
8. Denver Broncos 7-2 (Last Week: 10)
That’s six straight for Denver after a rock fight with Houston. Sean Payton still needs more offensive consistency to matter in January.
November: LV, KC, @WAS, @LV. The Chiefs game is everything. Beat KC and an undefeated month is on the table.
9. New England Patriots 7-2 (Last Week: Unranked)
Six straight wins and first place in the AFC East. Nothing is pretty, but style points don’t count—scoreboards do.
November: @TB, NYJ, @CIN, NYG. If they steal one in Tampa, a clean November is realistic.
10. Kansas City 4-4 (Last Week: 7)
Feels like an elite NBA team pacing itself for the postseason. Still, 4-4 wasn’t the plan. Time to crank it up.
November: @DEN, IND, @DAL, HOU. The bye gives extra time to reset. A win in Denver reboots the AFC West chase.
29. New York Jets 1-7 (Last Week: 29)
I am oddly stress-free today. Upbeat, even. There’s nothing like a win going into the bye week. A victory before the break feels like a rich relative took over the bills for a month.
Conversely, the extra week can feel like a piano on your back, seven extra days to stew on what went wrong as your soul is slowly crushed.
Did someone ask for a winnable game? The Browns come to town on Sunday. No word from the league yet on flexing this one into prime time. Cleveland is 2-6 and lost their last game to the Patriots by 19. Joe Flacco still leads the Browns in passing yards, and he’s played four games for the Cincinnati Bengals. Cleveland is 31st in offense at 15.8 points per game. The defense is respectable, second in yards allowed, with Myles Garrett wrecking games. He has 10 sacks and 15 tackles for loss. The Jets offensive line will have its hands full with Garrett.
There is something better than a win heading into a bye week, and that’s a win coming out of it, rolling into New England on a two-game heater, ready to toss a wrench into the nonsense up there.
