OTL: Flock Disappointed in Lack of Deadline Moves by EDC
It’s always fun scouring the Twitterverse for updates and opinions on the NFL’s Trade Deadline Day. Tuesday brought a ton of both, so I’ll do my best to summarize everything dealing with the Ravens, while touching on some of the biggest news elsewhere.
Ahead of Tuesday, however, the Ravens made their biggest move of the period, bringing in D-Line support in the form of Dre’Mont Jones. Having performed well of late for the struggling Tennessee Titans, Jones adds versatility and (at least recently) production, but may not be the big name fans were hoping for:

GM Eric DeCosta and company are obviously relying on Jones’ sack totals to continue increasing in Baltimore, and luckily, there is reason to believe they will:

More importantly, though, is his flexibility along the D-Line. We know Baltimore is weak there, but DC Zach Orr should be able to deploy him in a variety of ways:

The first potential problem is Jones’ win rate, with Jonas Schaffer noting that it’s not particularly elite, especially considering he won’t be paired with a DT like Jeffery Simmons anymore:
Win rate for Ravens rushers on “true pass sets,” per PFF:
Dre’Mont Jones (48/93 EDGEs)
Mike Green (62/93)
Tavius Robinson (82/93)
Kyle Van Noy (93/93)
—
Travis Jones (29/95 IDL)
John Jenkins (67/95)Jones will help, but Ravens could use another boost.https://t.co/u6o6G9dZMY

In terms of compensation, the Ravens sent a conditional 5th-rounder to the Titans, which could turn into a 4th if Baltimore’s dreams come true:
Conditions on the Dre’mont Jones trade:
The conditional 5th-round pick from the Ravens (originally the Jets 5th) becomes a 4th if the Ravens make the playoffs and he has 2 sacks the rest of regular season. https://t.co/YiE7H88wwO

Ultimately, the Ravens will hope it does become a 4th, but that brings up the bigger problem of the day – Did EDC do enough to move the needle? As Schaffer highlighted, further reinforcements would be ideal, and heading into Tuesday, all eyes were on the available IDLs and OGs:

At the end of the day (pun intended), this is what fans wanted:
I am asking on behalf of the entire #RavensFlock at this point, can we please have nice things ahead of the 4pm trade deadline?!
— Nic Mason (@British_Raven19) November 4, 2025
Instead, here’s what happened:

Ravens Flock is upset for good reason. Sitting on five 5th-round picks, plenty of cap space, Baltimore did have room to make a deal. Tack on the fact that the team looks rejuvenated and has an easy upcoming schedule, and all signs pointed to more activity:

I’m sure EDC was on the phones throughout the day, but the lack of tangible results is extremely disappointing to the majority of fans. With glaring weaknesses on both trenches, it’s hard to believe the Ravens can turn their turnaround into a real Super Bowl push:

Stars like Quinnen Williams aside, many fans (myself included) would’ve been happy with fringe moves that gave both trenches options. Given the compensation necessary for those, there seems to be no excuse for nothing getting done:

Chase Coburn outlined his thoughts on why a star wasn’t smart, and while I’d typically agree, he doesn’t rule out players like G Kevin Zeitler or DL Calais Campbell. Unfortunately, there seemed to be reasons to rule those names out, as well:

So, how should we feel? As of now, I’m a bit conflicted, but one thing’s for sure: the excitement was palpable heading into this week, but now feels dead. Can the Ravens still overcome their slow starts and make the playoffs? Yes. Can they go on to win a Super Bowl? I’m not so sure.
Either way, questions need to be asked about the offseason, if not the Trade Deadline:
Ravens fans are disappointed that EDC didn’t take big swings. But to do so is cost prohibitive! It’s more expensive to fix roster issues in-season. EDC’s failure wasn’t at the deadline but rather in the offseason when it was glaringly obvious where the weaknesses lived yet they… pic.twitter.com/yh04kUh78M
