Chicago Bears’ Jonathan Owens makes personal announcement before Rams game
Jonathan Owens played all 17 games for the Chicago Bears during the regular season. The 30-year-old safety registered 19 combined tackles (nine solo) in his second year with the team. He took the field in Chicago’s wild card win over their divisional rivals, the Green Bay Packers, logging one solo tackle in the 31-27 victory.
The Bears are now set to face the Los Angeles Rams in the divisional round of the NFC playoffs. As the No. 2 seed in the conference, they will host Matthew Stafford and Co. at Soldier Field on Sunday, with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET.
On Saturday, Owens took to social media to make a personal announcement ahead of Saturday’s game.

Owens is expected to take the field on Sunday against the Rams. He’s no star, but the 30-year-old will play his part for the special teams as Chicago looks to secure another playoff win.
A win for the Bears will see them go through to the next round, where they will face Sam Darnold and the Seattle Seahawks for the NFC title. The Seahawks booked their spot in the conference championship game with a dominant 41-6 win over the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday.
