The Chicago Bears claiming the NFC North crown and toppling the division rival Green Bay Packers in the NFC Wild Card wasn’t just a major step forward, but a showcase of the homegrown talent assembled by general manager Ryan Poles.
Second-year quarterback Caleb Williams’ ascent into the upper echelon of players at his position across the league was a driving force, wide receiver Rome Odunze continues to emerge, but the Bears’ 2025 NFL Draft class became a catalyst not just to Chicago’s playoff run in 2025 but a source of major optimism about what the future holds in the Windy City.

Over at NFL Media, Editor at Large Gennaro Filice ranked every draft class across the league, with the Bears’ topping the list with an “A” grade.
“From Week 10 through the end of the regular season,” Filice writes. “Chicago boasted the two most productive rookie pass catchers in the entire league: WR Luther Burden III topped the board in that span with 481 receiving yards, while TE Colston Loveland ranked just behind him with 479. And Loveland continued to ascend in the postseason with nearly 200 more yards in two games. Lastly, the Bears’ offensive line looked complete after Ozzy Trapilo took over the blind side in Week 12.”
Loveland finished the season as the Bears’ leading receiver, and a favorite target of Williams, Burden is an emerging star, and as Filice points out, Trapilo was an instant upgrade along the offensive line when given the opportunity.
If this group continues to ascend, and Poles has similar success accumulating young talent with team control in this spring’s draft class, the Bears are going to be a force to be reckoned with in the NFC as a legitimate contender for the foreseeable future.
