WNBA: Fever star Sophie Cunningham reveals intriguing personal detail
Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham rarely lets the public in. The 6-foot-1 veteran keeps her personal life behind closed doors, but she recently pulled back the curtain in a candid moment.
Cunningham spent the offseason recovering from a torn MCL that cut her 2025 campaign short. Before the injury, the Missouri product made an immediate impact on a Fever squad led by Caitlin Clark. She averaged 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and shot a career-best 46.9% from the field and 43.2% from three.
Beyond the numbers, Cunningham brought a toughness and edge that a young, rising Fever roster badly needed.
Before suiting up for her second season under coach Stephanie White, the veteran guard gave a rare glimpse into her life off the court.

Cunningham is relentless when it comes to her craft. The seven-year veteran pours countless hours into her game and rarely diverts attention from basketball.
But on Wednesday, the WNBA star made an exception. She joined the “Like A Farmer” podcast hosted by Pat Spinosa and ventured into territory she seldom explores.
The conversation quickly turned to her dating life.
“Okay, so let me get into this, because we were talking about this off-camera. People don’t come up to me. Like, I don’t really go on dates. You know what I mean?” she said. “My life is a mystery to a lot of people. And that’s how I want it to be.”
Oh please, Sophie!!!

The Missouri native then shed light on why romance has been elusive. She even delivered the admission with a signature dose of humor.
“I think I just may give off an intimidating vibe… I think that’s maybe the problem. Like, I get along with the guys way more than I get along with the girls. I think I might be a boy. I can’t say that nowadays. I’m kidding! I’m a biological woman!” she quipped.
Cunningham guards her personal life as fiercely as she guards opponents on the court. It was a rare moment of transparency from the Fever guard.
But when the 2026 season tips off, expect the beloved enforcer to be all business once again.
