Fans saying the same thing about Sophie Cunningham after Fever announcement
The Indiana Fever made a couple of big announcements on Saturday. It was the first day in WNBA free agency that players were officially allowed to sign new contracts with teams, and the Fever wasted no time.
Indiana locked in three-time All-Star Kelsey Mitchell to a one-year, $1.4 million deal. Lexie Hull also got a new deal and will remain in Indiana for 2026.
There is still no update on Sophie Cunningham, though. The 6-foot-1 guard is an unrestricted free agent, and both parties have already indicated a mutual desire to get a deal done. Nothing has come to fruition just yet, though, and more than a few Fever fans are now on edge.
Indiana Fever fans demand new deal for Sophie Cunningham
The Fever announced Mitchell and Hull’s new deals on Instagram on Saturday. While these were met with excitement by the majority of the Indiana faithful, others were more concerned about Cunningham.
Now that the top two free agency priorities have been locked in, Fever fans are demanding that the organization turn its attention to Cunningham and her future with the team.

Apart from Mitchell and Hull, the Fever also announced the signing of forward Monique Billings. Backup center Damiris Dantas is also expected to return for another season. Moreover, the Fever have reportedly also agreed to a new deal with point guard Tyasha Harris.
It is abundantly clear, however, that Fever fans are now eagerly anticipating an announcement on Cunningham.
