Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark

On Sunday, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever took a day off after winning 105-57 against the Nigeria national team the previous day.

The superstar guard only played 13 minutes in the preseason matchup but recorded 12 points, four assists and two 3-pointers. Damaris Dantas led the bench mob, contributing 16 points, along with five rebounds and four three-pointers in 23 minutes. Fever head coach Stephanie White fielded 14 players, including 13 scorers, and experimented with different combinations.

Indiana’s regular season starts in five days. The day off allowed the players and coaching staff to relax before a busy week of practices as they gear up for a potential championship run.

Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark reposts major golf news on her Instagram story

Clark is a big golf fan. She participates in pro-am tournaments and takes the time to play with her teammates to relax. The 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year reposted a graphic from the LPGA Tour on Sunday that announced Nelly Korda as the winner of the Riviera Maya Open in Mexico.

Clark had a subtle reaction to Korda’s latest win. The Fever star shared the announcement post via an Instagram story without any caption.

The world No. 1 won with a 17-under 271. She shattered the previous 72-hole event record by four strokes. It was also Korda’s third win of the season, and sixth top-two finish in as many events.

Clark played alongside the three-time major champion at the LPGA The Annika pro-am in November. They praised each other, with Korda highlighting that the 6-foot guard drew more fans to the tournament.

“It’s cool to see how many people she brings together to another sport,” Korda said. “And it’s fun to hang out with her. She’s super cool.”

The two-time WNBA All-Star expressed amazement at Korda’s playing style.

“She just makes the game of golf look really easy,” Clark said. “So, you’re almost like, ‘How?’”

Clark and the Fever will open their regular season on Saturday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse against the Dallas Wings. ABC will broadcast the game live, which is set to start at 1 p.m. ET.
