WNBA: Caitlin Clark’s five-word reaction to Lexie Hull’s personal announcement
Caitlin Clark was one of the first teammates to learn about Lexie Hull’s decision to remain with the Indiana Fever. In fact, Clark helped Hull announce her new contract with the team via an Instagram video in April.
Hull became an unrestricted free agent in the offseason. However, she decided to stay in Indiana, signing a two-year, $1.6 million deal. The 6-foot-1 guard has spent her entire four-year WNBA career with the Fever, and she’s now locked in for at least two more seasons.
Clark was delighted to get one of her backcourt partners back for 2026. On a personal level, Clark was thrilled that one of her best friends on the team would remain in Indiana.

Hull marked a special occasion on Friday. She celebrated her sixth anniversary with boyfriend Will Mathiessen.
The 25-year-old took to social media to announce her latest relationship milestone. Hull also noted that this will be their last boyfriend-girlfriend anniversary. The couple announced their engagement in April.
“our last May 1st anniversary!! 6 years and counting 🤍” Hull wrote.

Clark just had to jump in on the comments section. The former WNBA Rookie of the Year expressed her reaction with five words.
“I’m excited for November baby,” Clark said.
Hull and Mathiessen have not officially announced their wedding date to the public. However, based on Clark’s comment here, it appears that the couple is planning to tie the knot in November. Clark is already very much looking forward to it.
The WNBA season ends in October, which means Hull’s supposed November wedding will take place after the 2026 campaign. Hull, Clark and the rest of the Fever squad will be hoping to celebrate the nuptials as WNBA champions.
