Bears’ fan favorite WR is already finding himself in some roster trouble
The Chicago Bears‘ wide receiver room has certainly become a source of contention after Rome Odunze revealed that the foot injury he suffered last year may affect him for the rest of his career. Considering that the Bears subtracted both D.J. Moore and Olamide Zacchaeus this offseason, that’s scary.
The hope is that Luther Burden III can stay healthy and take a big step forward and that rookie third-round pick Zavion Thomas can prove to everyone that he wasn’t a reach on Day 2. Kalif Raymond is now in the fold, too.
But what about fan favorite wide out Jahdae Walker?
Walker managed just six catches for 87 yards and a couple of touchdowns last season, but one of those touchdown grabs served as the game-tying score in the Bears’ thrilling Week 16 win over the Green Bay Packers.
There was considerable hope for Walker heading into 2026, but the former undrafted free agent might already find himself in some rough waters.
Chicago Bears could overlook Jahdae Walker

Chicago will certainly have a wide receiver competition in training camp, but based on how things have unfolded at organized team activities, Anthony Miller of Bear Goggles On isn’t so sure Walker will get much of an opportunity next fall.
In a piece where Miller listed his biggest winners and losers of the Bears’ second week of OTAs, Walker unfortunately fell into the latter category.
“As Kalif Raymond and Thomas continue to impress and press forward at OTAs, Walker’s playing time might start to drop despite working on building rapport with Caleb Williams in the offseason. It’s nothing Walker is doing in practice that is affecting him, but everyone’s elevated performances aren’t making it easy on him,” Miller wrote.
Miller added that Walker “might get the short end of the stick” when it comes to Ben Johnson’s tough upcoming decisions at the position.
Odunze, Burden, Raymond and Thomas are roster locks, which likely leaves two remaining spots at wide receiver. Walker should be able to secure one of those slots, but just how much playing time will he actually get in 2026?
The 6-foot-3 Walker definitely brings an intriguing skillset to the table, but there is no question that he might get phased out, especially if Williams happens to develop a connection with Scotty Miller, as well.
