Chicago Bulls: 3 draft candidates reportedly emerge for 1st-round pick

Texas Tech Red Raiders guard Christian Anderson was linked to the Chicago Bulls

Chicago Bulls new executive vice president of basketball operations Bryson Graham, and head coach Tiago Splitter enter the 2026 NBA Draft with a chance to find dynamite talent to ignite a rebuild.

The Bulls will have the No. 4 and No. 15 picks in the first round. AJ Dybansta, Darryn Peterson, Cameron Boozer, and Caleb Wilson are considered the best four prospects in the draft by far, but which of the four Chicago takes is out of its control with the No. 4 pick.

However, Wilson appears to be the most likely player of the above names to be on the draft board with the Bulls’ pick.

Then, Chicago has another opportunity to land a gem with the No. 15. Finding an elite talent at that spot is supposed to be one of Graham’s strengths, and he appears to have an idea of where he wants to go with the second selection.

There was some chatter the Bulls could look to add a big man like Michigan’s Aday Mara, but the team appears to be looking at another position.

Per Jake Fischer of “The Stein Line,” the Bulls had a “slew of guards” working out with the team on Friday. Texas Tech’s Christian Anderson Jr., Alabama’s Labaron Philon Jr. and Arkansas’ Meleek Thomas are viewed as “candidates” for the Bulls with the No. 15 pick.

After losing Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu in trades last season, the Bulls are in need of guard help. There has been talk that Dosunmu could return to his hometown of Chicago, but the team needs some young guard help after using its first-round picks the last two years on forwards Matas Buzelis and Noa Essengue.

Mara would be a fun pick, but it’s unclear if the Bulls would need to trade up to get him. If he’s not available, Chicago doesn’t appear willing to draft another center for position help. Though it could be a smokescreen, the Bulls are set to add another guard in the first round.
