Caitlin Clark is WNBA MVP, claims Hall of Fame sportscaster
Caitlin Clark has been turning heads with her on-court performance all season long. She is arguably the Indiana Fever’s most important player, showcasing her high-scoring and playmaking skills. Many believe she is the WNBA’s MVP this year, and Linda Cohn is one of them.
She was enshrined into the National Sports Media Association Hall of Fame in 2017. Cohn is best known for her tenure with ESPN, particularly as the anchor of “SportsCenter” from 2002 until last June. She announced her retirement from the network after 34 years and over 5,500 episodes of the show.
Meanwhile, Clark is averaging the third-highest points per game at 22.1. She is also leading the WNBA with 8.3 assists, proving that she can contribute in different ways. The three-time All-Star has her sights set on helping the Fever win the title this year to cap off what has been a historic season. She could rewrite the history books as the only player to lead the league in assists while being in the top three in scoring.

Indiana Fever: Linda Cohn shares reasons why Caitlin Clark is the MVP
Cohn cited her reasons why Clark is her MVP. She highlighted her impact on scoring and setting up teammates, as well as winning the Player of the Week honor multiple times.
“I would vote for her because nobody touches the ball more than her,” Cohn said. “The offense goes through her. I saw a stat that was remarkable in WNBA history. She creates, either with her assists or with her scoring, 40-and-a-half points. Forty-and-a-half points is the average of an Indiana Fever game. That’s how much she impacts the game. Four straight player of the week. Her and Kelsey Mitchell, the best tandem in the WNBA.”
“It’s not most stats per player, it’s most VALUABLE player.”

The 66-year-old added that Clark should be in the MVP conversation along with A’ja Wilson and Olivia Miles.
“She she should be right up there with A’ja Wilson. Olivia Miles, great rookie season. She’s a rookie. She’s not going to win league MVP.”
Clark still has eight more games on the schedule to further strengthen her MVP bid. However, she likely wants team success more than a personal accolade. She and Indiana are peaking at the right time and making a serious case why they should be a championship favorite.
