Camp Notes: Ravens Return Home, Madubuike Hits the Sled
The practice session at 1 Winning Drive was on the shorter side today, spanning around 90 minutes.
Absent were Zay Flowers, Zion Young, Calais Campbell, Keyon Martin, K’Von Wallace, Jamon Johnson, Carl Jones, and Reid Williford.
However, it was a rough start on the injury front, as WRs Octavian Smith Jr., Xavier Guillory, and Dayton Wade, as well as DB Bilhal Kone all left practice within the first 20 minutes or so. Only Guillory returned. After practice, Jesse Minter had no updates on any of the three who remained inside.

Nnamdi Madubuike hit the sled for the first time today, another positive sign in his progression. Madubuike’s true timeline is still foggy, however.
“That’s something we’ll look at,” said Minter when asked about 92’s potential Week 1 availability. “I don’t know if I have a definitive answer on that.”
Teddye Buchanan also continued to work off to the side as he gets up to speed after his activation from the PUP list.
Jovaughn Gwyn once again took the majority of first-team center reps today, but Minter said Ethan Pocic will get first-team opportunities over the next week as the staff continues to evaluate the depth chart at center.
The battle is now between Gwyn and Pocic after Danny Pinter, who seemed to be working toward the starting job, tore his patellar tendon during joint practice in Minnesota, according to NFL Network. Pinter will be placed on season-ending injured reserve, according to Minter.
In terms of on-field action, there wasn’t much to talk about today.
Lamar Jackson had a few nice connections with Mark Andrews, who finally had some downfield action after most of his early-camp receptions were fairly pedestrian. Devontez Walker also had a nice catch over the middle on a ball slightly behind him.
Mike Green stood out today, beating Carson Vinson quickly to record a “sack” and sniffing out a screen pass to force an incompletion a few minutes later.
Tyler Loop looked good during a full team period, and was 6-for-7 on the day. He hit his first four kicks from 33, 38, 43, and 48, but doinked the next one off the left upright from 58. He then came back with makes from 63 and 58. The kick from 63 had plenty of distance.
The Ravens will hold a walkthrough tomorrow before welcoming in the Washington Commanders for a joint practice on Wednesday.
