Iran immediately dismissed his claims. “Fake news is intended to manipulate financial and oil markets and to escape the quagmire in which America and Israel are trapped,” wrote Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of Iran’s parliament, in a post on X.
President Trump claimed on March 23, 2026, that the US and Iran had held “very good and productive” conversations over the past two days regarding a “complete and total resolution of hostilities” in the Middle East. He stated this as the basis for postponing planned US military strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a five-day period, framing it as dependent on ongoing discussions. Iranian sources, including officials quoted by state-aligned media and foreign ministry representatives, have rejected these claims outright.

The Iran-US war is a charade because Iran spent billions building thousands of tunnels, missiles and drones when it could easily have acquired nuclear weapons at a tiny fraction of the price. Its allies, Russia, China and N Korea could have helped. There is no reason India, Pakistan and N Korea would have them and not Iran, considering the Israeli threat. The only possible explanation is that nuclear weapons don’t exist, which I find hard to believe.  We are supposed to believe that the MI-6 installed Mullahs eschewed nukes on principle. No one is that naive. The reason Iran doesn’t have nukes is they would prevent WW3.
