One-Year Sentence for Not Pretending Some Men Are Women

Orwell exaggerated. In 1984, you could be tortured indefinitely at the Ministry of Love for not believing that 2 + 2 = 5. In Brazil under moonbat rule, the punishment for not pretending that some men are women is only a prison sentence.

A veteran University worker in Brazil has been sentenced to 1 year in prison for “misgendering” a trans-identified male student. Luís Adripaulo Mendes Barros was charged under the nation’s notorious “social racism” law after a trans-identified male student reported him to police for “transphobia.”

As administrative director at the Federal University of Paraíba, Barros was called upon to settle a dispute between a guy named Odara Moraes and an unnamed female janitor he had been verbally abusing for not believing that he belonged in the ladies’ room. During his attempt to calm down Moraes, Barros said, “You are trans, not a woman.”

Moraes then stormed out of the office screaming that he had been “discriminated against.”

Four days later, both the janitor and Barros were contacted by police, informing them they were under investigation for criminal transphobia.

After learning about the incident, trans activists on campus, likely under the instruction of Moraes, began targeting Barros directly. Graffiti was spray-painted outside of his office, and he was labeled a “fascist” by other students.

Barros was found guilty in court and received a 1-year custodial sentence plus fines. The university demoted him and stripped him of his leadership role.

It could have been worse:

The news of Barros’ conviction comes just days after another ruling in Brazil saw influencer Bianca Barreto sentenced to two years in prison for “criminal transphobia.”

As for the janitor, she lost her job, although she was at least acquitted of the charge of social racism.

You can see why liberals are so keen to impose transgenderism. Only when they have forced us to deny obvious objective reality have they achieved absolute power.
