Even without Steph Curry in the lineup for the Golden State Warriors, the Chicago Bulls weren’t competitive on Sunday night.

Josh Giddey’s 18 points led the Bulls in a 123-91 loss to the Warriors in front of 18,449 fans at the United Center. That’s seven losses in a row for Chicago and eight defeats in its last nine outings.

The Bulls were out rebounded by Golden State 51-38. The disparity helped lead to the lopsided result.

During his postgame news conference, Bulls head coach Billy Donovan said he sees more losing in the team’s future until they “love each other” enough to make effort plays.

“Our team likes each other,” Donovan said, via K.C. Johnson of CHSN. “But until we love each other enough to dive on floor for loose balls or box out, where you’re doing it for the guy next to you, this will continue.”

He pointed to a lack of second-chance points as the reason the offense could only must 91 points.

A few days of rest coming

The Bulls have a few days to rest up, get healthy and work on the basics.

Chicago will next play the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night.

They’ll be 9-14 entering that contest.

Second-year forward Matas Buzelis has a disappointing 16 points, three rebounds and one assist in the loss. Nikola Vucevic netted only six rebounds. Coby White earned one rebound to go with 12 points.

Even if the Bulls do show more effort at some points this season, it’ll likely be too late to make a push for the postseason after starting the year 6-1.
