Declan Doyle didn’t do the Chicago Bears any favors on his way out.

After spending one season with the Bears, he chose to better his career by taking the offensive coordinator job with the Baltimore Ravens on Friday.
While the job will have the same title as what he had with Chicago, the Ravens will offer him an opportunity to call plays in 2026, something that was head coach Ben Johnson’s duty. Doyle can parlay his gig with the Ravens into a head coaching gig in the 2027 hiring cycle.
Doyle’s decision to leave the Bears on Jan. 30 isn’t ideal for Johnson. Most teams have already hired top coaching candidates for this cycle.
Still, the Bears have a few intriguing options for the offensive coordinator position in 2026.

Barrett was the assistant quarterbacks coach of the Detroit Lions in 2023 and 2024 with Johnson. He left the Lions to become the Bears quarterbacks coach in 2025.
Barrett, Doyle, and Johnson did well developing Caleb Williams in his second year in the league. The former national championship quarterback for Ohio State could be ready for the promotion to offensive coordinator. He’ll likely get a chance to interview for the position.
