Chicago Bears OC Declan Doyle tracking for head coaching job: Report
On Monday, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported that Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Declan Doyle pulled out of the running to take the same title for the Philadelphia Eagles.

“Bears OC Declan Doyle has withdrawn his name from consideration for the Eagles’ offensive coordinator vacancy, per sources,” Russini posted on X. “Doyle opts to remain in Chicago, working with Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams.”
Last January, new Bears head coach Ben Johnson hired Doyle away from Sean Payton’s staff on the Denver Broncos, where he served as a tight ends coach. While Johnson is calling the plays in Chicago, Doyle is doing the prep work during the week and getting the offense on track.
The duo Johnson and Doyle scored the ninth points per game in the league, at 25.7 points per game.
While Doyle would have had the opportunity to call plays in Philadelphia, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN suggested Doyle has a better chance to become a head coach next year if he stays with the Bears.
“Was told Declan Doyle’s interview with Philly was highly impressive,” Fowler posted on X. “He’s on track for HC interviews next cycle, so staying put makes sense in that regard. Wouldn’t surprise if Eagles prioritize playcalling experience at this stage.”

Reason why Declan Doyle should stay with Chicago Bears

More News:NFL reveals punishment decision on DJ Moore
Here’s the truth about Philadelphia this offseason: It’s a high-risk, high-reward job.
Former offensive coordinators Kellen Moore and Shane Steichen landed head coaching jobs after leading the Eagles to Super Bowl appearances. Kevin Patullo and Brian Johnson were fired.
Top offensive minds have stayed away from the Eagles during this hiring cycle. There are serious questions about the talents of quarterback Jalen Hurts. Wide receiver A.J. Brown could be traded this offseason.
More importantly, the pressure will be high for the coaching staff next season. If the Eagles fail to make a Super Bowl next offseason, it’s possible head coach Nick Sirianni will be on the hot seat.
After all, Eagles general manager Howie Roseman had to watch Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider become the first GM in league history to reach multiple Super Bowls with the same team but with a different head coach and no players on the roster from a previous Super Bowl team, per Jordan Shultz.
Why would Doyle want to risk that when he lands a head coaching job from Chicago?
