Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese (5) reacts to a flagrant foul from Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) on Saturday, May 17, 2025, during a game between the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky at Gainbridge Fieldhouse

Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky are looking forward to better things in the upcoming 2026 WNBA season. Despite Reese being named an All-Star for a second consecutive season, the Sky still struggled mightily throughout the campaign. They finished with a 10-34 record, tied with the Dallas Wings for the worst in the league.

Chicago’s biggest rivals, the Indiana Fever, had a much different fate in 2025. Caitlin Clark was limited to just 13 games due to multiple injuries, but the Fever still made it all the way to the semifinals. The Fever fell to the defending champions, the Las Vegas Aces, after a hard-fought five-game series.

Chicago Sky preparing for Angel Reese-Caitlin Clark showdown in 2026

On Wednesday, the WNBA announced the 2026 season schedule. One of the biggest highlights of the announcement centered on Reese and Clark renewing their rivalry in Year 3. The Sky and the Fever face off three times this coming season, which is two fewer than their five matchups in 2025.

The first showdown between Chicago and Indiana will be on June 11. The Fever will host the Commissioner’s Cup game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The next two matchups will be on Aug. 8 and Aug. 23, with the Sky hosting both games in Chicago.

The Sky made a big decision about the Aug. 8 showdown. Reese and Co. play their home games at Wintrust Arena, but the Sky decided to move that particular game to United Center. There is a lot of anticipation surrounding Reese and Clark’s first matchup in Chicago in 2026, and the team has responded by changing the venue. United Center has a capacity of over 20,000 for basketball games, which is double the capacity of Wintrust Arena.

The Sky have just two games scheduled at United Center in 2026. Apart from the Fever game on Aug. 8, Chicago will also host Aja Wilson and the Aces at United Center on June 28.

The Fever swept the season series against Chicago last season, 5-0. Reese and the rest of the Sky are eager to get some revenge.
