Big Moves in the NFL Offseason

So, the Seattle Seahawks are the new NFL champions. The NFC champs never looked troubled by the Patriots at Super Bowl LX, and now their main priority is figuring out how to go and win it all over again. It’s not a simple task, and head coach Mike Macdonald will be hoping to bolster his roster ahead of the new season.

The NFL offseason is a long one, of course. A lot of business is done while we all watch other sports instead of football, and free agency suddenly becomes the most important thing in the NFL. All the best online betting sites in the US will be waiting to see which players go to which teams before setting their 2026 prices, and free agency plays a huge part in that.

OnlineSportsBetting.net is the best place to find out about all of those betting price shifts, and having your finger on the pulse of free agency moves and acquisitions is the best way to prepare for the new NFL season. It is sure to be another busy summer, so here are some of the big names to keep an eye on this offseason.

Head Coach Carousel

Although most of the vacancies have now been filled, it pays to keep an eye on new coaching staff around the league, as well as who is playing for who. A staggering ten teams fired their head coach either during last season or as soon as it finished. A whole host of offensive and defensive coordinators also moved teams.

There is not much to look out for as far as head coaches moving now, with everyone just about set in place for the season ahead. But all eyes will be on Jim Harbaugh at the Giants, Jesse Minter at the Ravens, and Mike McCarthy at the Steelers, to see whether they can have a positive effect on their new teams.

Now, let’s take a look at some players who could still be in for a move this offseason.

Kyler Murray

The number one overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft is set to be one of the biggest names on the move this offseason, as his time in Arizona looks like it might be coming to an end. Murray actually had the chance of a pro baseball career but opted for football, with some critics suggesting that his stature would have been more suited to the summer game.

His college career showed that he could be a big star in the NFL, but his seven years as the Cardinals QB have only brought one winning season and one playoff game. With a new head coach in Arizona, it might be time for Murray to look elsewhere, with teams like the Vikings, Falcons, and Dolphins all potentially searching for a new leader.

A.J. Brown

The Eagles front office played down talk of an A.J. Brown departed in January, but there is no doubt that the Super Bowl LIX champ could be one of the biggest names suiting up for a new team at the beginning of next season. He is arguably the best WR Philly has had in recent years, but his frustration with the team was made perfectly clear last season.

Brown could be traded this summer, with no limit on the number of teams eager to acquire an athlete of his ability. Cleveland could be in the running to get Brown, as another refresh is underway, and the Browns also have two first-round draft picks to sweeten the deal. Other teams in need of a top receiver are the Patriots and Ravens.

Tua Tagovailoa

With little in the way of top QB prospects in the draft after Fernando Mendoza’s predicted first pick move to the Raiders, there could be some familiar names trading teams this summer. With a whole host of new head coaches attempting to stamp some authority, a new QB can change everything.

Tua Tagovailoa is another first-round draft pick QB who hasn’t lived up to his potential in the pro game. He has now spent six years with the Miami Dolphins without taking himself or his team to the next level, and a spate of injuries and concussions has severely affected his influence. His huge contract will be a sticking point for many teams, but there is always one that takes a gamble with an athlete like this.

J.J. McCarthy

This one is a bit of a long shot, but it is worth keeping an eye on the current Vikings QB as he struggles to get his NFL career into gear. After missing out on his true rookie season, McCarthy struggled to get any momentum going last year, and there are questions over his ability to lead this team to the glory it craves.

Sam Darnold’s Super Bowl-winning year in Seattle only made things worse for Minnesota, as he was allowed to leave that team as McCarthy was installed as the number one. It is more likely that the Vikings keep faith with the young QB, but another poor start might see the NFC North team looking for a replacement.

Kenneth Walker III

Our last big name is possibly the biggest of all after his exploits at Super Bowl LX. It is nearly always QBs who land the MVP award, so that tells you all you need to know about how well Kenneth Walker III played in the championship game. Last year saw him rush for over 1,000 yards for the second time in his career, and he is one of the hottest tickets in the NFL right now.

There is no way that the Seahawks will want to lose their star player, but he is entering free agency, meaning that there will be other teams circling. Seattle will have to pay a lot of money to keep his services, so it might be worth keeping an eye on the Pacific Northwest to see whether their valuation meets Walker’s expectations.
