Caleb Williams reveals what he needs to do for Chicago Bears

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is coming off a great season. He led the Bears to the NFC North title and their best record in eight years. They made it to the NFL playoffs for the first time since 2020, and Williams was a major part of it.

Since his arrival in 2024, the quarterback already set multiple franchise records. The quarterback holds the Bears’ record for the highest passer rating in a single season by a rookie with 87.8. Not only that, but he is also the first rookie quarterback with multiple games of 300+ passing yards. The former first overall pick definitely made an impact early on in his career.

Williams surpassed expectations in his second year in the NFL. He set the franchise record for most passing yards in a single season with 3,942. Williams scored 27 touchdowns this year and improved his passer rating from 87.8 to 90.1. He did this and led the Bears to an 11-6 finish, a playoff berth and the NFC North title.

Unfortunately, Chicago was beaten by the Los Angeles Rams in the divisional playoffs, losing in overtime. The Bears now look to the 2026 season, and Williams is already getting MVP buzz as early as now.

How will Caleb Williams improve next season for the Chicago Bears?

Williams is now preparing for his third year in the NFL. He joined “The Rush Podcast” with Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby to share what he needs to do to help the Bears win it all. Williams shared three things that he picked up while watching other quarterbacks in the league.

“One is complete more passes,” he said. “Whether it was drops or whether I was throwing it out. I had a bunch of bad (passes), a bunch of throw-outs, throwing the ball out of bounds, things like that.”

Williams is looking to help the team out with easy catches, start drives and keep them going. This is to open up more scoring opportunities for the Bears by keeping them on the floor more often.

“Another one is handling, just overall,” Williams said. “Did more than I did my first year between checks and hand signals and things like that.”

The former USC Trojans star wants to dive deep into handling the situation better. He also praised Bears center Drew Dalman, calling him a “beast.” Williams added that Dalman is supremely smart, and he’s looking to build their bond more for next season.

“The last one is, I want to be the greatest offense this year,” Williams admits. “That’s really on my mind, being able to put up points every single time we’re out there.”

This shows that Williams is aiming to carry the Bears to another level next season and possibly win the Super Bowl.
