With the surprise retirement of center Drew Dalman on Tuesday, the Chicago Bears have several holes to fill in the trenches this offseason.

The Bears could soon make a decision to add a player to the trenches, and it could have ramifications for how general manager Ryan Poles can allocate resources to the rest of the roster.
If the Las Vegas Raiders trade star defensive end Maxx Crosby this offseason, the move is expected to come sooner rather than later. The Raiders would ideally trade Crosby before the start of free agency next week, allowing both front offices to plan for the offseason before the star of the league’s new year.
Per NFL insider Benjamin Allbright, the Bears are the “preferred destination” for Crosby, who wants to play for a team that can compete for a Super Bowl in the upcoming season.

The Bears lead the odds to land the five-time Pro Bowl player.
Crosby, who has 69.5 sacks since he was drafted in the fourth round of the 2019 draft, is expected to fetch the Raiders a haul of picks, similar to what the Green Bay Packers gave the Dallas Cowboys for Micah Parsons, two first-round picks, and a player.
That asking price would be steep for a Chicago team that needs to address the left tackle and center positions this offseason. The Bears also need to add help at linebacker, secondary, and potentially running back.
The Bears do have wide receiver DJ Moore to trade. He’d be an ideal player for a Raiders team expected to draft Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the No. 1 pick in April’s draft.
