Chicago Cubs: best kept secret of 2026 MLB season revealed
The Chicago Cubs are 4-5 to start the season. They have dropped two of their first three series of the year, their most recent loss coming against the Cleveland Guardians over the weekend. Chicago lost the first game, won the first game of their Sunday doubleheader, and then dropped the series finale on Sunday night.
Currently, the Cubs are in last place in the National League Central Division. The good news, though, is that there are 153 games left to play, meaning they have plenty of time to turn it around.
When/if they do, their bullpen will be a key reason why.
Caleb Thielbar named the Chicago Cubs best kept secret
David Palencia, Chicago’s closer, is regarded as their best bullpen pitcher for a reason. However, the Cubs still need to get to ninth inning with the lead in order for him to have his greatest effect.
