Chicago Sky select Tonie Morgan in 3rd round of 2026 WNBA Draft
The Chicago Sky has decided on who they are taking in the 2026 WNBA Draft. They had three selections (one in each round) and have finally made their final selection of the night. After taking Gabriela Jaquez and Latasha Lattimore in the first two rounds, the team has added another player to its roster. The Sky have wrapped up their 2026 WNBA Draft picks by selecting Kentucky Wildcats guard Tonie Morgan. Morgan played three seasons with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets before transferring to Kentucky ahead of this previous season. The 2025-26 All-SEC member was able to play well as a legitimate playmaking point guard. She averaged 13.8 points, 7.9 assists, 3.1 rebounds, 0.9 steals, and 0.6 blocks in 34.5 minutes per game.
Morgan led the SEC in assists per game this season and has showcased the ability to be a legitimate playmaker on the court. She was also able to significantly improve on her 3-point shooting this season, shooting 34.4% from deep. Chicago has a lot of talent who can be threats to score the basketball, so having a point guard who can initiate the offense like Morgan is critical to success. Do not be surprised to see her getting more minutes as her rookie season progresses.
The Sky saw a significant change to their roster heading into the WNBA regular season. With players like Skylar Diggins and Rickea Jackson, who can score the basketball, they will love playing with Morgan.
