OTL: AFC North Bids Farewell to Myles Garrett
What a day yesterday was across the National Football League.
Myles Garrett is out of the AFC North, thank God. There were always some casual rumors about Garrett potentially getting traded, but it never seemed like something that would actually happen. We were destined to be terrorized by him until he hung up the cleats, right?
That all changed yesterday when the LA “F them picks” Rams swooped in with an offer that truly makes this seem like a win-win for both sides.

In 16 career games against the Ravens, Garrett recorded 14.0 sacks. Last season, he picked up 5.5 sacks in two games against Baltimore, including four the second time the teams met, in Cleveland.
Whenever Cleveland managed to hang around with Baltimore, Garrett was usually the catalyst.
Fresh off a record-setting 2025 campaign, he joins Byron Young and Kobie Turner along a stacked Rams defensive line.
That Rams/Seahawks matchup twice a year will truly be a treat for fans across the league—the defending champs against the NFC runners-up.
If the Ravens end up in the Super Bowl, don’t be surprised if they face off against one of these two juggernauts.
So Garrett is out of the AFC North. What did Cleveland get in return?
Jared Verse is a game-wrecker in his own right, and this 2027 Draft class fixes to be loaded, although the Rams’ 1st round pick should be quite late, if they play to their potential.
Good riddance, Myles.
THE WAIT IS OVER

In less surprising news, the A.J. Brown saga has come to an end. With the calendar flipping to June, Philly and New England made the deal official, with the Pats sending a 2028 1st and 2027 5th back to Philly.
This was widely anticipated once June 1 arrived, but it doesn’t make the deal any less substantial. Brown is still a game-changing wide receiver, and Drake Maye now has the true 1A weapon that he was missing last season.
The AFC East battle between Buffalo and New England should be fun to watch, and you’d figure that the runner-up would seed into a high Wild Card spot. However, as we were reminded last season, you never truly know which teams will simply fall off the rails.
The Brown trade also makes for a really fun Eagles’ pass-catching corps. I’m really excited to see what Devonta Smith and Makai Lemon do in Philly this season. Yes, it’s an undersized receiver room, but at this point Smith is a proven star and Lemon was not long ago a potential top 10 pick, and has all the potential in the world.
Every NFL offseason is one of change, and this one is no different.
