Angel Reese’s actions towards Caitlin Clark turn heads

Fans look forward to every time Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark face each other. They have built a rivalry in the WNBA after both were selected in the first round in 2024. Their matchups often turn heads from the three-time All-Star forward’s time with the Chicago Sky, until now that she’s with the Atlanta Dream.

Their teams met again on Sunday, with the Indiana Fever visiting State Farm Arena. Clark and Co. emerged victorious 95-91 in overtime in a tightly contested game. They achieved their fourth consecutive win, bouncing back strong after previously losing back-to-back games.

However, one play in the first quarter stole the spotlight early in the game when Reese tried to seal Clark inside the paint.

Clark found herself on a mismatch near the basket, with Reese attempting to receive the ball to post her up. However, a Dream player shot the ball from the perimeter and the LSU product attempted to retrieve the ball following the miss. Reese hit Clark on the neck area, and fans on X reacted to the sequence.

“Angel Reese was always going to start drama. She has gone too long without antagonizing Caitlin Clark,” one an said.

“Adding a little hockey and roller derby to the game is the best marketing move the WNBA ever made. Look at all this coverage they’re getting. A year ago, no one was paying any attention to them,” a comment read.

“a lot of this stuff is media tryna find narratives but that def looked a little personal,” one user wrote.

“She got cooked so bad now she tryna fight ,” posted another.

“Angel was just trying to boxx out for the “me-bound,” another fan commented.

“Yall need to stop with this. It’s basketball. You want to stir something up as usual. Weak!” a reaction read.

Clark led the way for Indiana with 26 points, three rebounds and nine assists. Makayla Timpson and Kelsey Mitchell supplied 20 points each, while Aliyah Boston recorded 18 points, 14 rebounds, and four assists.

Meanwhile, Allisha Gray spearheaded Atlanta’s attack with a game-high 32 points, along with seven rebounds and five assists. Reese produced 15 points, 14 rebounds and six assists.
