Colin Cowherd all in on Chicago Bears after seeing training camp

Chicago Bears, Coby Bryant

The Chicago Bears continue to turn doubters into believers following a strong 2025 season. They are deep into training camp and are impressing many, including Colin Cowherd.

Caleb Williams and Co. aim to surpass their success last year. They won the NFC North with an 11-6 record before the Los Angeles Rams defeated them 20-17 in overtime in the Divisional Round. The team addressed positional needs in the offseason to prepare for a potential deeper playoff run.

Chicago now has more depth and multiple players are ready to step up when needed. While the offense compensated for the defense in 2025, key veteran additions will likely change that dynamic.

Bears impress Colin Cowherd during training camp

The veteran sports analyst saw firsthand how good the Bears are ahead of the upcoming campaign. Cowherd talked about his experience of attending their recent practice session.

“It was a big thunderstorm so it took the Chicago Bears’ practice indoors,” Cowherd said. “Fans didn’t get to go see it, but I was lucky enough to hang out for a couple hours and talk to Ben Johnson and the GM and the president. Very, very, very fun experience for me… I got to tell you, my observations, that offense, I didn’t see a drop pass. That’s a young, highly, highly quick and energized offense.

“It’s almost got a college feel to it. They were celebrating. They were having a good time. The offense controlled the defense. Second thing, Caleb Williams has lost he told me 13 pounds. I’m telling you right now, he was the fastest quarterback in the league last year. His top speed was 21 miles an hour. He took off along the left side. A play broke down. He looked like a wide receiver. Now, he’s not as bulky.”

Cowherd’s comments will only excite Chicago fans even more. The team will open its regular season on Sept. 13 against the Carolina Panthers. A lot of eyes will focus on Williams and his teammates, but they already appear ready to take on the challenge.
