In the Ravens’ second Christmas day game in as many years, they travel to Houston to face off against the AFC South leading Texans. The Ravens head into this game with positive momentum after taking down archrival Pittsburgh Steelers just four days ago to draw even in the AFC North. While they are division leaders, the Texans have not looked the part in recent weeks. C.J. Stroud has fallen victim to the  ‘sophomore slump’ cliché, and life for him wont get any easier as he will be without Tank Dell for the remainder of the season. With the Steelers facing off against the Chiefs before this game kicks off, Christmas day presents a great opportunity for the Ravens to take control of the AFC North with just one more regular season game to play. Nobody is rooting for the Steelers demise harder than me, as a 1-4 week on the player props has led to a combined 1-9 for me in games vs Pittsburgh. The overall record as it stands is still 45-25, so here’s to ending the regular season strong.

It’s common knowledge at this point, but Lamar’s passing ability this season has been nothing short of elite. Last game vs Pittsburgh may have been Lamar’s greatest display of precision passing to date. Countless times in big moments Lamar was able to drop the ball in a bucket, where only his guy could get it, regardless of how tight the coverage was. To say he is locked in right now is an understatement. The Ravens playmakers on the outside have been making life easy on him as well. Per NFL Pro, Lamar 17.9% of his completed quick passes (under 2.5 seconds) have resulted in an explosive gain, the 2^nd highest rate in the NFL. 218.5 is a soft line for the QB with the 5^th most passing yards in the NFL with two weeks to go. Lamar Jackson Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-140 FanDuel)

The Texans passing defense has played well this season, ranking 7^th in passing yards against while ranking second in the league with 19 interceptions. Their red zone defense, however, is where they have been vulnerable this season as they are tied for last in the league with 28 passing touchdowns against. The Ravens lead the NFL in red zone efficiency, converting 72.8% of their red zone opportunities into touchdowns (per Team Rankings). The battle within the red zone will be a huge factor in the outcome of this game. Season trends and projections have pointed in favor of the Ravens in this matchup all year, so I’m very confident in Lamar reaching this mark on Wednesday.

Mark Andrews Over 3.5 Receptions (-130 FanDuel)

Mark Andrews’ production has been huge for this offense, particularly in the red zone. The all-pro caliber tight end is just another weapon Todd Monken has at his disposal that defenses are forced to pay heavy attention to every time he lines up. I anticipate the Ravens to utilize the quick passing game that has worked so well for them (referenced above) often to attack the middle of this Texans defense, whose strong suit is their pass rush and playmakers in the defensive backfield. Derek Stingley in particular is a player the Ravens should do everything in their power to avoid, as his ball skills are second to none amongst cornerbacks in the NFL. Andrews is among the best at finding the soft spots in the zone and Lamar and Mark have been in lockstep for years now. If the Ravens do gameplan around Stingley and Texans defensive playmakers, Andrews should have a productive day.

Nico Collins Under 93.5 Yards (-113 FanDuel)

Nico Collins has been unbelievable this season. The connection he and Stroud have established is among the best in the league. Unfortunately for Houston, fellow wide receiver Tank Dell suffered a season ending injury last time out vs the Chiefs. With Stefon Diggs already on the shelf, Collins is the only available threat on the outside this Texans offense has to offer, so there is no reason why there shouldn’t be multiple eyes on him every single play. The Ravens defense has done well in neutralizing the opposing team’s WR1 down the stretch of this season as well, as no receiver has reached this total since Week 10. 93.5 is a lot of yards, and even though Collins has been amongst the best in the business this season, he has a combined 77 yards in his last two games. I have faith in the Ravens secondary to continue playing great football down the stretch and hold Collins under this total.

Derrick Henry Anytime Touchdown Scorer (-190 FanDuel)

I mentioned last week that whenever this line is under -200, it is a great value play. Even though he did not find the end zone last week, I will stay true to my word. There is no player in the NFL that is more due to score than Henry, who did just about everything but scored last time out against Pittsburgh. The Ravens offense is the most efficient in football. They can move the ball down the field as good as any offense in the league, leading to multiple goal-to-go scenarios per game. The Ravens have leaned on the play action passing game around the goal line as of late and it has worked very well. They will not by any means stray away from handing the ball off to #22 in the red zone however, and it’s only a matter of time before he gets back in for six.
