Chicago Bears star’s dad takes major shot at team, wants his son traded
Rome Odunze has been arguably one of the biggest pieces of the Chicago Bears offense. Despite having zero receptions during Week 9’s thriller against the Cincinnati Bengals, Odunze still leads the team in receptions, yards, and touchdowns for the Bears offense.

In a post that’s starting to go viral on X, James Odunze seems to believe that his son should be traded.

In a post on X, Odunze’s father retweeted a post that said “Can the Bears trade Rome Odunze to a team that’ll actually throw to him”. James Odunze reposted it and pinned it to his profile.

This is beyond baffling and makes zero sense as Odunze has clearly been the Bears’ number one receiver throughout the season. The second-year player has been arguably Caleb Williams’ favorite target.
The wide receiver literally leads the entire team in receptions, targets, and has the most touchdown receptions. Odunze has 5 touchdown receptions on the season. The only player that has came close to that is Colston Loveland, who caught his first two touchdowns on the year on Sunday.
It’s clear that Odunze is still the top target on the Bears’ offense. And it’s even more clear that Odunze will not be going anywhere, regardless of what his dad thinks. The Bears wide receiver has all the potential to be a superstar in the NFL.
