Happy Monday, Ravens Flock. For the draftniks among us, it’s one of the happiest Mondays of the year, as the NFL Combine kicks off later this week in Indianapolis. Beginning on Thursday, NFL hopefuls will run around in shorts trying to improve their draft stock.

Here’s a list of the prospects who are on the invite list this year, from NFL.com. And here’s the schedule.

Among other offseason happenings, free agency is of course on everyone’s mind. However, every year it seems like a certain segment of Ravens fans forgets what team they root for, as they anticipate big spending on marquee names. Eric DeCosta is here to, once again, throw cold water on those notions (for those of you who need it):

Right player, right price. Other than that? Let the other franchises make the big splashes.

Most of us don’t have a problem with the approach. Ya know who does, though?

Now, just looking at the other teams around the Ravens in Jason OTC’s tweet there…we sure wouldn’t want to be in the company of teams like the Rams, Eagles and Chiefs, now would we?!

As for Jason LC, we got word last week that we no longer have to listen to his insane personal ramblings on 105.7! Praise be!

We got rid of John Harbaugh and Jason in the span of a couple months? Man, we really are on a heater! Jokes aside, the 2-6 slot suddenly becomes listenable. Ken and Tim were so much calmer without Jason in there, just a couple guys talking ball, with no screaming or over-the-top negativity. We’ve had some sports talk heels around here in the past, but I don’t think anyone earned the kind of universal disdain from local fans that Jason did. It wasn’t a good fit, and the station is better off having moved on.

Jason can scream into the Twitter void with his goofy personal vendettas instead.

Sure thing, Chief.

Before we part for the day, I’d be remiss to not mention the thrilling sports happening of yesterday morning, the United States Men’s hockey team taking gold in overtime over Canada!

Jack Hughes, American hero! He joined Megan Keller of the Women’s squad, who ALSO had an overtime winner in her team’s gold medal match against Canada on Friday!

My son is 8, and has been getting into both hockey and the Olympics big time this year. He was getting up to watch whatever sport was on before school for the two weeks of the Milan games, and we watched all three Mighty Ducks movies as well as the Miracle documentary on Netflix last week (Miracle with Kurt Russell is next). On Sunday morning, he and I were in a hotel in Gettysburg PA (how fittingly patriotic!) watching, and celebrating that game-winner with him is something I’ll never forget. Thank you, Jack, Helly, and everyone else on Team USA!

Oh, and RSR’s good friends over at Jimmy’s Famous Seafood found themselves quite popular yesterday in the wake of the victory.
