Chicago White Sox draw biggest April crowd in nearly 2 decades
The Chicago White Sox enter play on Sunday, April 26 with an 11–16 record, but there’s a noticeable shift in energy surrounding the team. Even while sitting below .500, this younger, more dynamic roster is finding ways to win more consistently than in recent seasons.

Nearly two decades ago, 38.513 showed up for a game on April 29 against the Los Angeles Angels. Saturday marked their highest attendance of the season, with the team drawing 33,171 for their home opener earlier this month and previously have no other contests above 22,326.
Excitement around the team is continuing to build not only around the their improved play, but also around Noah Schultz, who made his third major league start in front of the home crowd on Saturday. Schultz didn’t disappoint as the southpaw tossed six innings, allowed four hits, and set a season-high in strikeouts with eight. Unfortunately, Chicago was not able to deliver a win in front of the home crowd, losing 6-3 in extra innings.
