Chicago White Sox have just 1 player predicted to be a 2026 AL All-Star
The Chicago White Sox are off to a horrendous start to the 2026 MLB season. They are currently 1-5, tied for the worst record in all baseball. What is more, their -31 run differential is, by far, the worst is both the American League and National League.
Indeed, this year projects to be another long-suffering season for White Sox fans, who have watched their team lose over 100 games in each of the past two seasons.
Even though the season is just one week old, many are starting to wonder what the All-Star rosters will look like. And as projections are made, there is only one White Sox player that some think will make the American League roster.
Grant Taylor predicted to represent the Chicago White Sox in the 2026 MLB All-Star Game
Last year, starting pitcher Shane Smith was named as Chicago’s lone American League All-Star. However, after his first two starts of the season this year, it does not seem like he will be repeating that honor. Smith is currently 0-2 with a 19.29 ERA.
Therefore, in Bleacher Report‘s first All-Star roster projection since the start of the 2026 MLB season, he is not the White Sox player they believe will represent Chicago. Instead, they predict it will be right-handed relief pitcher Grant Taylor:
“He is an under-the-radar candidate worth keeping an eye on this year. With an upper-90s fastball and wicked breaking stuff, he struck out 54 of the 157 batters he faced in 2025 while logging a 1.42 FIP in 36.2 innings.”
Currently, Taylor has a 4.50 ERA in two appearances. Last year, he was 2-4 with a 4.91 ERA in 36 appearances. He also recorded six saves.
This is a very interesting choice from BR because of the presence of Munetaka Murakami on the White Sox roster. While it is yet to be seen just how consistent he will be over the course of the season, one would assume his popularity in Japan will garner him millions of fan votes.
